I reckon 250 approximately including home and away and friendlies.

First game brought by my parents to see us beat Iceland 4-2 in Dalymount in 1962.
First away game in France in 1976.

Jeebus. I'd say I'm similar to JG there. Must check it out when I'm not trying to avoid college work.

A mere novice by comparison with only 33 games to my name, my first when Robbie Keane broke the Ireland goalscoring record against the Faroes, my first away game was Bratislava in 2007. Seeing as I've gone to the bother I might as well post my full list -

    1. 13/10/2004 Faroes Islands (h) 2-0

    3. 08/09/2007 Slovakia (a) 2-2
    4. 12/09/2007 Czech Republic (a) 0-1
    5. 13/10/2007 Germany (h) 0-0
    6. 06/09/2008 Georgia (Mainz) 2-1
    7. 11/02/2009 Georgia (h) 2-1

    12. 15/11/2011 Estonia (h) 1-1
    13. 10/06/2012 Croatia (Euro 12) 1-3
    14. 14/06/2012 Spain (Euro 12) 0-4
    15. 18/06/2012 Italy (Euro 12) 0-2
    16. 12/10/2012 Germany (h) 1-6
    17. 22/03/2013 Sweden (a) 0-0
    18. 29/05/2013 England (a) 1-1
    19. 14/11/2014 Scotland (a) 0-1
    20. 18/11/2014 USA (h) 4-1

    22. 07/06/2015 England (h) 0-0
    23. 13/06/2015 Scotland (h) 1-1
    24. 07/09/2015 Georgia (h) 1-0

You went to Japan/Korea ? Well done. I'd say Robbie's equaliser was a moment to savour. I only flew over for the Spanish game.

yes, 3 weeks in the far east (singapore, japan, korea). had a ticket for the 1/4 final and would have gone had we beaten spain but would also have 100% been sacked from my job had I done so!
highlights were Cameroon 2nd half, robbies equaliser, spain and watching the home teams matches with their fans. would you believe that irish fans were leaving a few mins before robbies equaliser for buses that weren't leaving for an hour after the game anyway?!!!

japan was an incredible place and had to (not under duress!) return a few years later as one of my fellow travellers married a Japanese girl he hooked up with at the wc.

    really incredible three weeks.

My Ireland game attendance ratio has decreased as my dependents have increased. I try to do one away per campaign (without success!) From that campaign to this last campaign I would have been ever-present at home games (incl. friendlies). Not too bothered about counting them however.

Have never done a tournament. Poor finances, a meh-attitude, and family deaths and births have scuppered the 3 available chances I've had.

    Aways:
    Cyprus/Andorra 01
    Glasgow 03 (Kerr's 1st)
    Basle 03
    Stuttgart 06
    Cardiff 07
    Skopje 11
    Gelsenkirchen 14

I'm hoping to add Copenhagen 17 to that list.

What we can decipher from your list of games is that you're barred from any potential WC appearance.

Your finals attendance record lists an abysmal run of results!

My first game was Macedonia at home for the WC 98 campaign when I was only a wee lad. I can't really remember the game.

The first major game I was at was the home playoff v Iran in 2002 and have been going regularly to home games since.

My only excursion to an away game or tournament so far was for the Belgium game in Bordeaux. I think I might have brought bad luck to them.

Edit: I looked through our games and did a rough tally. I've been to about 52 games in total. One or two friendlies I can't be sure I was at because they were completely forgettable.

Please stay away from all future away game We should of course have had a peno in that game where Shane Long was almost decapitated on two sides so you can count yourself unlucky that you have never had the joy of witnessing an Irish away goal.

Everybody goes on about Wessi & Brady for the win in Lille, but they should be thanking me for getting the hell out of France.

A mere 24, I think. I'm a bit vague about some of the friendlies at the start of this list but this is my most honest stab at it

2012-02-29 Czech Rep Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2013-11-15 Latvia Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2014-03-05 Serbia Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2014-05-25 Turkey Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2014-09-03 Oman Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2014-11-14 Scotland Glasgow, Celtic Park
    2015-03-29 Poland Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2015-06-07 England Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2015-06-13 Scotland Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2015-09-07 Georgia Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2015-10-08 Germany Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2015-11-16 Bosnia Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2016-03-25 Switzerland Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2016-03-29 Slovakia Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2016-05-27 Netherlands Dublin, Lansdowne Road
2016-06-13 Sweden Saint-Denis, Stade de France
    2016-08-31 Oman Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2016-10-06 Georgia Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2017-03-24 Wales Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2017-03-28 Iceland Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2017-06-04 Uruguay Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2017-06-11 Austria Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2017-09-05 Serbia Dublin, Lansdowne Road
    2017-10-06 Moldova Dublin, Lansdowne Road

It's not quite Japan but the 2 trips I've been on to Glasgow and Paris were superb. We were planning on going to Cardiff but Mrs Backstothewall gave birth to little Backstothewall Junior in August which killed off that trip.

Also sure that my first game was sometime in the 90s as a chisler but nothing sticking out. I'll leave my membership at the door on the way out.
