Yeah, all second-placed teams go through except the one with the worst record against first and third in its group. In a tight Group 2, Belgium came second, picking up only a point against first and third in their group. As we have already picked up three points against both Macedonia and Georgia, we are guaranteed to beat that record, even if Poland beat us and overtake us for first place. It isn't as daunting a task as for the U-19s, who must top their group to get through, but still an impressive achievement to have done it so comfortably so congratulations to all involved. So our U-17s have made it to their final tournament for the second year in a row and will be playing in their third in a row next year at home. That is definitely starting to auger well for the future.
nice to see the quick freekick on the first and the variation on the corner for the second. nice mentality with the size of that Collins lad at the back they could easily make every set piece about big balls into the box like the seniors
we've already qualified but the last game, versus poland, is on now. parrott has just scored from the spot in the 48th minute.
Should be aiming to finish top of group and get a so call easier group in last 16 ... take it will be 4 groups of 4 teams in finals?
yep, that's right:

a draw would be enough for us to top the group.
Is there a more in form U17 team in Europe?
He probably does have a serious squad at his disposal but I've heard rave reviews on Colin O'Brien as a coach previously and I'm sure credit on this is due to him. It will be interesting to see how the FAI nurture his coaching talents.
Top scorers on the continent I read somewhere.
And top scorer.
Lets see how they do in England in May!
Former Cork City winger.
Old interview with him here: 'I'd given everything to Cork, but there's always that tinge - that little bit of regret' http://the42.ie/3510296

group D is tasty. hopefully we have a reasonable chance of fighting for top 2. Hopefully tg4 step in and show the games like they did the season mastersons group qualified cause it's hard to see eurosport not concentrating on group a and d.
