    Thumbs down Steve Ryan?

In relation to the Oscar Traynor panel I for one was totally shocked by in inclusion of the affore mentioned Ryan. I cannot for the life of me explain the reasoning behind it. He is one of the most over-rated players in the county WHEN he decides to play and when he does'nt play he just gives abuse to the oppenents. I dont understand how he can get picked before Gerry McLoughlin or Scahill. I wonder how his Westport teammates take to him.

I see that the local press have gone to town on the CFA decision and el Duce had nothing to say to the Mayo News The Conn went even further by suggesting that another player is now illegal. When will this end ?
Will the new final tables be printed in the local press ?
Question. When the Port play an ineligable player they lose the game, so Why when Celtic do it is it replayed ? Different rules for different clubs anybody !!
Another !! Would any of this have ever got out if the Fox was still their and did not squeel to the Boro and if so it makes you wonder what the favoured clubs have got away with in the past. By the way favoured clubs = Celtic & Manulla. Any others anyone. You for you perhaps Manfred

I'd rather not give my opinion of the aforementioned 'player'.

I'll give you this Moss, you're like a terrier. We all knew this would come out in the wash.I for one agree wholeheartedly, we had players do eight games for pitch encroachment! FFS! Il (or should it be Ill!) Duce and his mates have it all sewn up and unless there's a horrible car crash that's the way it will stay (I'm not sorry I said it). At least Snugboro got to have a go, albeit it probably cost them more time than it was worth. I think a lot of this has to do with a**e licking, Dykes' a**e and Ill Duce's lips. Not a pretty sight i'd wager but a frequent occurrence nonetheless.

There's a thread on the EL forum which is a bit funny. It's 'what does FAI stand for'?. Some good replies.

What does MAFL stand for in the current climate?

    Foot.ie!

different rules for different clubs is a perfect summation for the mafl. while genuine registration oversights and breaches of discipline are scrutinised profusely into the majority of clubs, serious blatant abuses by 'favourites' are overlooked and/or swept under the carpet in such a mannner that the remainder of clubs must be considered as 'gobsh....es'.mind you the 'favourites' would hardly gain any advantage would they from some positions on the mafl.to use common place political terms ' transparency and accountability', where is it. is the mayo oscar traynor team going to be another casualty in this increasing and embarrassing registration mess.

Just to clear some confusion on the Mayo Oscar Traynor panel. Danny Scahill has been training with the squad. It is amazing how some people get so many things wrong. I suppose many people look for the negative aspects of the game. Let us all look forward to a good game on Sunday, and a Mayo win.

    Unhappy Ryan

I think the treatment of Ryan is a little over the top here. I know that he is not too popular in the port but who from Celtic is . From my our observations did he not come on as a sub back in covieland and singlehandedly turn the match ?. I was there and I thought he did. As regards Mayo, well as I have said before it is easier get on the Mayo team than on the Celtic team. On the Matter of Mayo, please do not tell me that the Port keeper is the best in mayo because he is not and I dare say he probably knows that. What about the S&F lad and fahey from the Heane would walk on that team but he told them to stuff it a few years back. So the Boro lad ( Lad he's not) should get the nod. Does anyone think that the Super Champs should represent Mayo and ask other players to join them ie Let Burns and Cusack do itand get in who they want. Should save time and money and at least they see the other teams players week in week out. I presume Manulla will have their TOKEN player on it. Actually when was the last time Mayo played without the TOKEN one - at any level. Come on Manfred answer that one !!!!

    Mossy

FAI Champs. Credit due.WondeRful achievement! But mossy, relax with ur statements please. Westport are over-rated.Ballina Town play better football.Call it bias.Maybe it is.Maybe not!Obviously they lack in certain areas, but can and have out played Westport in every department in recent games.Westport won this years Super League without a genuine challenge. Celtic came close but never seriously threatened.Lets just see how Westport respond to this year's challenge. Then we rate them.OK

Get a grip will ya, Ballina Town might play it on the deck but they have a fair bit to go to reach the standard of Westport. look at our Junior Cup record, back to back Superleagues, etc etc. Overrated? You're off your nut. Take your delusions of grandeur elsewhere.

Mossy was on about having a different approach to the Oscar Traynor setup, it was a bit out-there but no need to have a pop at the standard bearers of Mayo football. We'll see what ye're made of come March/April next year and what big comp's Ballina Town are left in.

What was your last trophy of significance, btw?

    Unhappy Mayo V Donegal

I happened to be at the game and to be honest, Donegal were there for the taking. They fielded a largely lower division side, worse than the Donegal side that Mayo beat 2-0 last year. Mayo lacked sharpness and the winning goal came from a goalkeeping blunder. Mayo should really have won the game 8-1 instead of losing 2-1. They need to win their other two games to progress or the MAFL dream of a Mayo team winning the Oscar Traynor Cup will have to be shelved for another season. I hope that this year's U.21 form is not filtering up to the county junior team.

Sounds a bit like self-praise Juan Pablo! Tell me this.. how do you see the premier Division going next year? Still confident Ballinrobe can do the business? What about Gerry Burke's absence? Surely he is a big loss. What other teams do you see doing well?? Anyone else got opinions on who will be going to the super league this time next year?

We drew five-all Swinford as far as I know, I was not there.

    MULRANNY/BANGOR V WESTPORT/S&F
    MANULLA/CHARLESTOWN V BORO/CMORRIS
    CELTIC/KILLALA V BALLINA/ROBE
    BALLYHEANE/FAHY V GLENHEST/GLENISLAND

Lads are all these matches on this weekend? Not sure if they are but will give my predictions anyway! Mulranny two beat Bangor 2-1 and Westport to beat S+f 3-1. Westport to go through without too much difficulty in the next round. Manulla should put three or four past a Charlestown team that are in good form after success in their division, whilst I dont see Snugboro struggling with Claremorris at all. They are too clever by half to allow Mr Glynn the space he needs to create chances. 3-0 or so I think it might be. Would be a good contest between Manulla and Snugboro were they both to go through.
Killala are fighters, but I think they will be given a lesson by Celtic. Could be in the 5-1 area. Ballina should beat Ballinrobe but the latter are a difficult team to judge, they played some great stuff occasionally this season but were inconsistent. 3-1 to Ballina or thereabouts. Is Gerry Burke with Ballinrobe for that one or what's the story? I think Glenhest should take Glenisland in the derby by two goals but will go down in the next round to the winners of the Balllyheane-Fahy game. Out of diplomacy and the fear of making a donkey of myself I will not bother giving a scoreline for that one!! Looking forward to what should be a good match though. Would be interested in seeing how others think these games will go!

well juan pablo or mr tuohy cup man!!!!,ya obviously found out your final date and was present at the game to watch crossmolina defeat ye on penos, from watching this 15 goal man u talk about(i think you really don't know much about football at all!!!) i knew ballinrobe were in trouble and thankfully he was substituted, frustrating i'd say for teammates to watch!!!gerry burke real talent at the robe, not that makeshift 15 goal striker!!!wheredid he score 15 goals anyways??????last year included i think!looking to next year for ye i thonk young new centre back Damian Walsh and Brian Maloney(gaa footballer) if they not enticed away to celtic like burke, ger burke if he does wait and o gorman if he pulls the finger out, main men to get ballinrobe back the super league!what ya think???away from that any lad that scores 40+ goals definately deserves a call up,big difference alright between super and div 1 but the lad is an amazing talent!!!led claremorris to the premier div on his own!!!!!gotta look at the player juan pablo not the divisions clown!!!

    Pwedickshons

MULRANNY/BANGOR - I think Bangor might do it. Saw them play once or twice this year and the're not bad. Mulranny might get ahead with the home advantage but I can't see them holding out.

WESTPORT/S&F - Ahem. Westport by a solitary strike. They'll make hard work of getting out of Mayo this year like they do every year.

MANULLA/CHARLESTOWN - Manulla to win by two. Charlestown may be fresher but the cream always rises.......

BORO/CMORRIS - Cracking tie. Agree with FF on this one. Could be a shaky one for the Boro but they have the determination and a better side. I could be wrong on this one.

CELTIC/KILLALA - Killala to get drubbed.

    BALLINA/ROBE - A draw or a 2-1. can't call it...(gets off the fence)....Ballina.

BALLYHEANE/FAHY - I reckon that Ballyheane will be taking this seriously but not as serious as Fahy, I can see a shock. (what a turnaround!).

GLENHEST/GLENISLAND - Glenhest (probably on pens).

We need to have more soccer in the winter, I only get out of the pen for it and I'm going stir crazy.........aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh.
