    Hi There:

Can we please end this now. I dont know what I missed on Sat, I was there. I was disapointed about the shirts but met Joe and it was a matter beyond his control. He apologised to us. Come on it really was not that big a deal and we will see them tonight anyway.

A lot of people are working hard at the moment to try and drag Limerick back into shape and, whilst constructive criticism is always needed, deserve a great amount of praise for getting us to where we are now. I went to Rathbane yesterday eve and am very impressed with the level of work going on there.

I did not want to have to post this as I feel it was a matter not worth broadcasting to the general public. These matters should be discussed at club meetings and as an officer also of the Supporters club I don't support your airing of a small matter in such an aggressive manner.

The obvious solution to this mis-undersatnding is to pick up the phone and ring Joe Soap, express your opinions to him and then MOVE ON. We have more important things to focus on at the moment, like pushing the Supporters' club and the Football club forward. And also a small matter of annoying Roddy Collins tonight. Focus your energy on the right direction and get behind the team.

Again apologies for going public to all on this, It really did not have to come to this.

    All the best

    John

Like John I was staying well away from this thread because I didn't see any point in slinging mud. The jersey thing was an unfortunate occurence but I was quite sincere when I said that these things happen. I've been as critical as anybody has but this time I think that it's all a bit needless.

I'm not fond of throwing around my moderator rank either but if this thread is going to descend into pointless bickering then I'm going to lock it and if needs be I'll have to start handing out more warnings. I'd really rather it didn't come to that obviously.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

Absolutely agree. But when constructive criticism is recieved by childish temper tantrums and name-calling by what is supposed to be the PR face of the club you have to take notice.

As John said, and I said in earlier posts, the work done by the owners has been magnificent. We know that because we are so involved and interested. The normal joesoap (to use the expression ) does not know the full extent of this. That is why PR is essential. The event wasn't a success. I criticised the event. To come back with a personal attack instead of discussing it is stupid. Debate the post, don't attack the poster.

Lets hope the mistakes have been learned from.

that’s great but we should be hearing things about the club on the radio at least every second day, honestly I’m sick of hearing about rugby.

Add the local papers to that as well. I had a quick read through the local papers this weekend and didn't spot much. We need to build and hype the club for the coming weeks - beating a premier team in pre-season in our first match back in Rathbane would make a great headline.

Yeah but in fairness to Joe it would take Jesus Christ himself pulling on LFC's number 9 jersey to ever get the Limerick media to pull themselves away from patting Munster on the back every day of the week and actually realising that not all Limerick natives watch rugby

or that not everybody in the county is biting their nails in tense anticipation over whether the dual players will play hurling

    Angry

Totally agree with the last post. Reading the star on saturday there was very little coverage of the blues great win over rovers, even though it was a pre season friendly. It begs the question, are rovers a dying breed? opinions welcomed

Rovers, no matter who plays for them are considered a great club, when you mention them you think greatness, the media should of acted on it, great result, well done

The local media should have given more covrage to the rovers game and are an institution in many ways and i take the point of the previous post. The blues deserve all publicticy they can muster, for too long now senior soccer, in the country's third city, has being neglected in favour of "other codes" (including junior soccer) though i may be brought to task about this.

Huh? When I hear them mentioned I think "history". You don't think they are 'cup specialists' as well do you?
