The news that PD is gone has left me feeling totally gutted. I hope that:
    1. There are no recriminations within the club because of the events of the last week.
    2. That no players feel they have to leave with him, out of sympathy or loyalty or whatever.
    3. That all true supporters of the game can wish Pat the best, regardless of what they think of his style.
Pat, thank you for reigniting my interest in domestic soccer after a lot of years, and in particular for the passion and love for the game that you showed all through your time in charge at Leeside.
This is one VERY upset fan, but I will welcome the new manager whoever he is, and back Brian Lennox 100% going forward.
    FPB.
P.S. I have kept the November 20th edition of the Irish Examiner front page photo of PD holding a sobbing Greg O'Halloran and Michael Divine just after the final whistle of his last league game in charge, against Bohs. That goes into the scrap book now.

we have to back him in the future, i do, but the way that this situation was handled in the last year was a disgrace and cant happen again.

I will check that out for you. Meanwhile I think you can just go in and order any print once you know the date it was in de paper. Costs about €20 though.

I had an opinion, like everyone else, but I never did anything to get Pat Dolan sacked. Hardly think I deserve congratulations.
The welfare of the club is my first concern and I derive no pleasure for such a situation, particularly since the start of the season is just days away.

Dolan sealed his fate himself, that is obious, you don't get to bully the Chairman in the media using players.

You know this is all very much alike when Dolan parted company with Pats, didnt he have problems with the media then.

Anyway I fully back Lennox's decision, even if we have to pay twice the managers fees for one yr.
    j'accuse!

Just arrived at work and saw the news. I can't say I'm shocked he's gone because from following on this board the developments that were happening between Lennox and Dolan, it was only a matter of time before something gave.

I was expecting a bit more of a backlash towards the board and Lennox following this but can see that the majority are taking the news like "thanks anyway Pat but that's football"......

I think that says it all really, most people think Lennox has done more for the club and is more important to the club than Dolan was.

yeah but in sacking pat he has:
(1)cost us lots of money we apparantly dont have.
(2)disrupted any chance of a normal warm up to the season.
    (3)maybe lost some players?

however in compatable they might have been, now was not the time to do this.

Dangerous accusation, naming names like that without any substantiation. I'd consider editing that post.

    nothing short of a disgrace.

lennox has cheated the fans. this was supposed to be our year.

i see rico is being touted as next manager

the same rico that lennox wouldnt give the job to 2 years ago becasue he wouldnt apply for it/

so now lennox is a crawler as well

Agree with all that but when is there a good time to sack your manager really? Players on the pro Pat side will be upset no matter what time of the year it happens.

On the plus side, all City's players are under contract and with all new managers comes new players and new ideas so maybe a few positives to look forward to??

Depends which way you look at the situation I suppose, half full- half empty scenario. I think it's a chance for City to build on what Pat has helped put in place and take it to the next level.
