Celtic XI vs Ireland XI McNamara's Testimonial

Game is on 29th of May,
Any ideas as to when these tickets will be out on sale, and what are the chances of getting some?
I have a few 'bhoys' season ticket holders making inquiries aswell, would love to be at this one!

tickets won't be a problem for a testimonial.

On sale already to Celtic Season Ticket Holders or World Huddle Members.

General sale from Mon 4th April.

However, FAI should get a decent allocation so can always try there also.

Cheers Junior, have noticed in the past that you can always answer these questions, should go for a job at FAI ticketing, more help than they are!!

Just a reminder that the Scottish Cup Final is on the Sat 28th May at Hampden. There isa a possibility that Celtic will be there (though Im not counting my chickens!). As a result hotels could be even busier than usual so I'd advise to book up early if you know you are definitely going.

the premierlodge at George square or Charing Cross are good options. £50GBP for a twin.

Its strange that the game is on the day after the final, which celtic will almost certainly be in.

Its hard to imagine them being in much mood for the Ireland game the day after losing to Hibs in the cup...

If its your first time up, then somewhere on the Gallowgate (close to city centre) would be good for bars of the celtic persuasion 'Bairds Bar' full of Memorabilia, 'Bar67', 'The Hoops Bar' or you could try 'The Brazen Head' a big Celtic pub in the Gorbals http://www.brazen-head.co.uk/indexf.htm again good for memorabilia etc...- These will all be mobbed so get there for opening time or as near to it as you can!!

That is unless you are going to try and get a ticket, in which case your best heading closer towards Hampden (about 25 min walk from thew gallowgate).

If your not in to the celtic thing, there will be plenty of pubs in the city centre showing it that will bea bit quieter.

    EDIT

Sorry should clarify these will all be mobbed IF Celtic are in the final

I am not sure that is the case but if anyone wants to double check you can call them on 0870 060 1888. I believe they were only selling certain stands to see what demand would be like, if they are selling quick then maybe they have opened up all the stands and a general sale, though they haven't updated the website if that is the case.

The four dublin boys that bought them while I was there must have been figments of my imagination aswell.

Myself and 3 others are heading to it. Noticed some others mention it on another thread. Will be good to see who gets a run before the Israrel game, but with the scots cup final the day before (and provided celtic are in it) I don't fancy very good opposition!

To all the people on this board who think Hibs are "the Irish team" on this board should look at todays minute silence at Hampden for Pope John Paul, there was booing, whistling and chants of FTP during it from the Hibs end (and Dundee Utd too).

Not sure anyone has ever said on here that Hibs are an Irish team. Just to clarify, they're not. They're from SCOTLAND. Just because I'm Irish, and live in Scotland, do you think that should automatically make me a Celtic supporter, especially as I live in Edinburgh? (and yes I could afford the bus fare if I wished, but I don't want to )

Every team is going to have a few idiot supporters, especially a team from a city of this size. But even then there was more disruption from Celtic fans during a minutes silence for the Queen mother a few years ago than there was from Hibs fans on Saturday (Obviously I'm not condoning either set of supporters actions).

Also it paled into insignificance in comparison to the actions of many Hearts fans on Sunday.

Hibs were founded by Irish and the clubs supporters are aware of their history, but that still doesn't make them an Irish team. Obviously 99% of Hibs fans (myself included) were unhappy at the disruption of a minutes silence, but again, it was a very small number of people and like you said it came from both ends of the ground.

The minutes silence at both weekend games was requested by Celtic and given the potential for trouble in Scottish football it must be asked whether it was a good idea to have one at all. Politics and religion should be removed from football completely because at this stage in Scotland theyre just taking it over. Hibernian's policy is to remove secterianism entirely from the club, and they do a good job of achieving this. If the Old Firm were half as successful as Hibs in this regard then Scottish football wouldn't be in its current state.
