Most places just say his father's Irish heritage but wiki says his link to us is a grandfather.
Probably has had enough of Justin Trudeau !
His parents were across to watch him play in the games against Latvia last year. Witnessed an interaction as I was queuing for a water at halftime. Seemed like lovely enthusiast people.
I think it’s always a lovely thing, seeing parents beaming with pride as their kid makes their first strides in the international game…
Lost 3-2, having been 3-0 down. Missed a tonne of chances, Noonan in particular. But also an absolute sitter from Sam Rooney from about 8 yards out. Deserved a penalty at 2-0 down on Solanke which wasn't given. Although Noonan didn't score today, I do think he follows in the footsteps of Ferguson and O'Mahony, in terms of a really prolific big striker... He was getting in the right areas time and time again, which is a good sign.
Wasn't mad on the 5-3-2 shape. Ogbonna was very good, coming on at half time as an attacking midfielder. Would also prefer to play Oladiti at right-back rather than centre-midfield. Still waiting for a growth spurt from Ali Topcu before we can work out if he's the next Brian Maher or the next Caoimhin Kelleher. Really missed Jayden Umeh's raw pace. They have plenty of good players who can play out wide (Brody Lee, Billy O'Neill, Billy Hayes, Goodness Ogbonna) but none of them are as direct and agressive as Umeh is.
Adding Umeh and Finneran back into the squad, it looks like a good squad for 17s in a few months. A lot of depth in quality and versatility.
