Why be so bloody negative? Kenny said he'd rather manage Ireland than Real or Barca. Find another flaw in this arrangement maybe. Christ.

Was that negative by me ?
To merely relate something that our new manager said while being unveiled today ?
    Cool yourself down man.
    Have you watched it ?

I'm actually very happy with this, from where we were a week ago. Its a little unorthodox, but suitable people in suitable roles, I'll take it. Happily.

Mostly silence, some crowd noise for 2 or so minutes until somebody lowered the volume.

If these appointments work out, the FAI will have had a huge slice of luck. If McCarthy does better than expected and Kenny worse than expected, they will find themselves in a very embarrassing situation 2 years down the road. I wish Kenny well but I wanted him to stay at Dundalk and get them competitive in the European leagues again over the next few years before moving on to the national job. The development of the domestic league is absolutely crucial to the international team and his contribution and legacy to Irish football from repeating what Dundalk did a couple of years could be greater than what he achieves with the national team. You only need to look at Corks performances in Europe over the last few years to know what the future could be now for Irish clubs

Kevin Palmer at the press conf, - McCarthy says he’ll help Harry Arter feel ‘more comfortable’ in the Ireland squad. That is not needed now. Problem has been removed

I agree. Mick knows he is out even if he wins the world cup.

So he has no incentive to win it.

    It is plain stupid!

I am disappointed as I backed Kenny when the odds shifted in his favour, lesson learned, I would have backed McCarthy otherwise
as he has as track record of relative success, Kenny is a question mark.

Lol?? Do you seriously imagine the is chance in hell he would be be offered the Real or Barca job?

I have as much chance of that than he has, ie no chance at all.

    Hell would freeze over first.

There is more chance of Ireland scoring from a sequence of 40 passes.

It aint gonna happen, not now, not tomorrow or indeed ever.

I think Robbie Keane is a good choice, we sure as hell need to score a few more goals.

Seriously? Two votes for Big Bung Sam ? Bungs and long ball. What more could you want?
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

I'd seriously consider Steve Staunton over Kenny at this stage

Melodramatic much!?? The day Stephen Ireland probably started inventing Grannies to get out of dodge!

His brother Chick was a brilliant player. Terryland now named Eamonn Deacy Park after him
