Hot and cold, per a Drog-supporting mate. His attitude tends to stink at times even though it's clear he has some serious ability.

Good to see Scully and Flanagan are still in there too. Not sure who number 15 is but he could use a bit of physical development to get ready for senior ball surely.

Excellent results against a team that reached the semi-finals this year - we narrowly missed out on qualification last time out so a good run this year would be a good indication of progress being made at underage level

    Republic of Ireland U19 Squad:
Goalkeepers: Mark Travers (Bournemouth - On Loan at Weymouth), Brian Maher (St Patrick’s Athletic)

Defenders: Tyreke Wilson (Manchester City), Dara O’Shea (West Bromwich Albion - On loan at Hereford Utd), Canice Carroll (Oxford Utd), Warren O’Hora (Bohemians), Lee O’Connor (Manchester Utd), Jordan Doherty (Sheffield Utd)

    Midfielders
: Daniel McKenna (Wolves), Rian O’Sullivan (Brighton - On loan at Worthing), Jayson Molumby (Brighton), Aaron Bolger (Shamrock Rovers), Thomas O’Connor (Southampton), Kian Flanagan (Crystal Palace), Anthony Scully (West Ham Utd)

Looks strong. Interesting that obafemi and afolabi couldn't make the under 17 squad in May but 4 months later are in the under 19 squad. Surprised Connolly not in from Brighton maybe injured. No Deccan rice I assume he will be with the 21s. Is mccauley been punished for throwing toys out of pram for the 17s? Other lads like Conor Coventry at west ham and Jack Clark at villa ayoola at stoke have played 23s football this season and are eligible so it looks a strong group. Hopefully do well

That John Martin at Waterford is supposed to be a right prospect. Linked with sides across the water and may already have been on trial. He's a Kilkenny lad at Waterford. That's gone well before...

So... a 0-0 draw with Carroll sent off late on for a second yellow.

That's some forward line. Especially if Flanagan can't get in. O'Sullivan must be good if they're exposing him to senior football at Brighton already. Scully and O'Connor seem to be excellent prospects. A Drog-supporting pal of mine hasnt been impressed with Byrne's attitude and willingness to show flashes of brilliance as opposed to consistent brilliance when his team were up against it this season. Question marks over his off-field behaviour too.

Considering it was 2nd seed v 3rd seed in the group, and 2 qualify from group it's not all doom and gloom. We need to beat Cyprus by 2+ to put pressure on the Azerbaijanis.

Bloody hell. Molumby isn't necessarily an attacking midfielder is he?

That team looks very strong for that level. And there are plenty more eligible, Doyle-Hayes I think. We could have a player on our hands in Molumby. Looking forward to seeing him play.

And I have only no noticed that there were a lot of changes from the other day. There is serious strength in depth there.

And the squad is a lot less reliant on English-born players than the under 21 squad.

I'm nearly sure Serbia knocked us out on goal diference/penalties in the final qualifying stage for this group at 17s

you sure it was this group of players? They qualified for the U17 Championships top of their groups in the qualifying and elite phases: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_U..._qualification
