9th of the season and 2 assists in a 4-0 win away to Burton.

I am glad to see things going well for this kid - as much as Brighton are lauded for developing players, there are times when they appear to take their eye off the ball - Connolly is one and Ferguson another (and their have been others).

You wonder at times what an Irish player has to do for a declining career to be his fault rather than his club's.

I’ll see your post and raise you an Andrew Moran.

Connolly took his own eye off the ball and onto the cailíní and cocktails, JRG. Well documented.

Connolly got L1 player of the month today. It was also announced that he will miss the next 4 months with a quad injury.... pretty much sums up his stop start career really
    Its really not that complicated!!!

Ah crap. With Idah and Ferguson's problems at the moment (and I guess add Cannon, Robinson and Obafemi in there too) we could have done with someone having a bit of a resurgence. Even something that got him a move back to the Championship and made a bit of a case that he could be an option again.

He's had a very good season up to now but he's settling at his level at this point, will be 26 the next time he plays a game and the rest of the current season is close to being a write off. Even if he does make it back to the Championship he'll likely be in his late 20s by the time it happens.

With Ferguson's two goals tonight, I think we're back being ok writing Connolly off
