Lost interest after 15 minutes at 2-0 and turned it off. Molumby playing more advanced centre kid, didn’t do much. 3-1 now

Good performance per the PNE fans forum and an assist for the only goal

    Trademark driving run.

Watching Brighton this season it amazes me that Graham Potter doesn't think his team needs that kind of positive forward running from midfield, or even just to try him for a couple of games at that level to see how he goes.

Looks like he has just picked up from where he left off in the Championship with Millwall last season.

I thought the same thing. Brighton are such a passive side and the only way they seem to move up the field is through their wing backs. Very little through the middle. I could give the manager the benefit of the doubt by saying that he sees a lot more of Jayson in training every day than we do but now, as you say, it looks like he has picked up from last season at Championship level and he has produced some good Ireland displays. So, on either side of a prolonged period of bench warming or not making squads, he has shown decent form and quality at decent levels of football.

Molumby was all action in midfield today— what an engine. Never stops running or clattering into people.

Still clearly a bit raw — I can remember one play where he was easily turned by his marker allowing a shot on target.

Excited to track him further during his Preston loan.

You're lucky this is foot.ie and not foot.ar - you'd be run out of town for such blasphemy.

In all seriousness, it doesn't seem to be a coincidence that the Millwall fans loved Molumby and they haven't been the same side since, and now he seems to have given Preston a real extra dimension in his couple of games. Seems like a player who always affects the game.

Having had a poor spell at Preston, it's great that the top team in the Championship have seen fit to sign him. I feel like it validates the opinion of many of us on here who really like this guy.

Progressive manager who was a fairly high level player. Brilliant team. Good level. This is all good.

I have watched them twice this season and they make Brighton's press and style of play look drab. Ismael has forged a really intense and all action style in that team. Intense and all action are two ways of describing Molumby. Little bit of compusure and refinement can surely be gained under a French man that played for Bayern!

The one downside is they have Mowatt and Livermore in midfield so he's far from guaranteed a start but those guys are of a level that if he's going to make it he's he has to be taking games off them.

If the playing style is as intense as you say, there'll be rotation by necessity.

Molumby is really starting to have an impact at West Brom. Some sub appearances and now two starts due to an injury to Mowatt.

The fans seem very happy with him and it does look like he is making the most of the skills we know he has e.g. drive, tenacity, a crisp pass. http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=26199.125

It is really good to see. Hopefully he keeps his place when Livermore comes back this weekend. It would be great to see him start an Irish game after getting a run of starts. His last Irish appearance was on the back of a stagnant 12 months and was not a true reflection of his abilities. If Kilkenny maintains his starting place at Bournemouth, then I would love to see a midfield 3 of Kilkenny (sitting), Molumby and Knight for the remaining qualifying games. We know what Cullen and Hendrick can do. Time to develop our 3 central midfielders who are showing the most potential for 2024

That's what March is for and the nation's league when we've 4 games in 10 - 12 days. Cullen is a regular at club and is only a starter since March. Would be foolish to drop our best midfielder for the next two games. It's gonna be up to Molumby to dislodge him or Hendrick.

Similar with Knight who now has good competition with Jamie McGrath for that spot behind the striker next to Robinson. Unless Robinson plays CF which opens up an extra spot for possibly McGrath and Knight to start together.

Kilkenny should be brought into the squad. In my opinion he's out grown the U21s who are currently going nowhere with Jim Crawford. Wouldn't be letting him stay with the U21s just for the fact he'll be starting when it's better for everyone to be with the seniors. If I had to pick midfielders for the next squad would be looking at Cullen, Hendrick, Molumby, Kilkenny, McGrath, Knight, Browne. Along with the three keepers that leaves 13 spots for an actual match day squad but you'll pick 25 or 26 with a couple lads dropping out for games.

2022 is gone, the 2 final dead rubber games should focus on development. Gotta think big picture. McGrath is a tidy player but hasn’t overly impressed but I will wait to see what he can do at a level higher than a bottom tier SPL team first before casting a more definitive judgement. The other 3 have a higher ceiling currently and if stay regulars with clubs should be embedded during dead rubbers against good opposition

Agree with you Tommy, big picture, but if SK's tenure is reliant on performances and results in the next two games then it is not the right move, right now.

Interesting. Overwhelming consensus on their fan forum was that Molumby was to be ahead of Livermore. Plenty time to prove it.
