Life isn't all beer and football...some of us haven't touched a football in months
good publicity for the club. the more kids see ericom League players in general on tv etc, the more they'll take an interest
Thats one of the main problems with promoting the game in this country. People find it very hard to relate to a team when they dont know anyone in it.
Its much easier especially for kids to follow/enjoy the game if they have some link with whos playing. I bring the two brothers to the games sometimes and found that there interest has shot up the more players they begin to know.
At the start they are going to see a game of football, nothing more nothing less. After a few games they are going to see for example Weso (who kids tend to love). It becomes more then just a game to them. They dont tend to care or even understand that the quality is not as good. When they can see someone from the TV they will enjoy it and want to come back.

As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
The beor on Sattitude didn't help. She was encouraging the young players with comments like "You could be the next Beckham" rather than referring to EL players. At least Keano got a mention.Originally Posted by higgins

Been a problem for a while now but the best known people in the eL are managers, not players.
Which Keano was mentioned, the one that scored today or the one that walked out on his country ?
Cork Celtic 1974 Champions
What do ya reckon of thet "beore" on sattitude? She's second from left of this picture. From Ballincollig. Quality lady.
