Killian Brennen at Derry City really stood out for me.
Killian Brennan (Derry City)
Damian Dupuy (Galway United)
Joe Gamble (Cork City)
Alan Moore (Shelbourne)
Danny Murphy (Cork City)
Mark O'Brien (Shamrock Rovers)
Who was best new player to the league from last season?
(by new i mean new to the league i.e. transferred from other league or promoted from junior side...)
Killian Brennen at Derry City really stood out for me.
Mark O'Brien. Sadly, it will be Bohs who will get the benefits of his talent next season.
Damien Dupuy of Galway United
At Limerick it had to be Jalmard Kulsten. Unfortunately now of Sligo Rovers it seems.

I would have said Declan O'Brien of Drogheda. He came from nowhere to have a great season and was well up there in the goal scoring charts. If I were to put my biased Cork City glasses on I would go with Kevin Doyle. Fantastic Season. Had he played up front all season he would have been close to being top scorer and even player of the year
he'd a great season alright, but he was not exactly new to the league. last year was his fourth season with us since his move from verona in the lsl, and his third in the premier, so he doesn't actually qualify to the original postOriginally Posted by sullanefc
Conor Kenna for us (from Shels' U-21s). Quality player. Also Darren Quigley (Kildare County's U-21s?) and Willie Doyle (Bohs' U-21s) if he can break his scoring duck early on...
I didn't realise he was around that long. What were ye feeding him last seasonOriginally Posted by ColinR
Technically it was Kevin Doyle's second season I suppose so I can't count him either then. No new players really stood out in the league. Maybe Danny Murphy, Cork's left back
For us it was Chris O'Connor, he's 1st real full season with us and he was outstanding. He he keeps his rapid progression up i fear we'll loose him to a club over the Irish Sea
Have to say that I don't even remember O'Brien when he played against Bohs.
BOhs best young player was Stephen Ward.
think pa purcell for waterford deserves mention. went to waterford from limerick. had outstanding season. was with pats for while dolan didnt give him look in but has shown them in last season he is well able for premier.![]()

Id go for those 3, but if I had to pick one it would probably be Moore!![]()
Not to put down a Shels player and all but people outside of Shels really over rate Alan Moore imo. He was outstanding in some European games yeah but the majority of his league form was pretty poor. Now he had played around 15 months straight football in fairness to him, but he has alot to prove this year.
ill nominate stephen o donnell who had a great first half of a season for us scoring a lot of important goals from midfield.
True, top keeper, top bloke.Originally Posted by Roo69
