My vote for Eurovision Beauty Queen this year was Sabrina for Portugal. If only she had got 3 more points, we could have studied her again in the final. Karolina Goceva for Macedonia, took a very close second.

As for Cathy Jordan, she is a contender too, but only for the Barbara Dex award.

Wtf is that supposed to mean? Do we turn Eurovision now into a hetero v homo contest?

    I.[/QUOTE]

What I meant (and you know rightly) was that Greece and Turkey had very camp songs, and the gay audience would more than likely vote for them. Can i make it any clearer?

    Bulgaria were God awful

Yes, you can. How do you know what the homo audience like? The Greece and Turkey songs featured both male and female performers, so how does that make it "camp"?? I didn't like either song anyway, they were "Have a break, Have a Kit Kat" songs, and didn't watch them.

The Bulgarian song was called Voda, or Water in English, which should have been emphasised by the water background during the performance. One of my favourites, it was a Eastern European version of Safri Duo really. About time there was such a song in Eurovision.

Re: our entry, yet again RTE say they will review the process for the show. But we heard that 2 years ago, and 3 years ago, and in 2001 following relegation. The reality is that RTE are stuck in the stone age, when it comes to selecting artists and songs for Eurovision. Our result this year, and in recent years, has been an insult to the many hundreds of talented songwriters and groups in this country. Throw out this theory, that the song must appeal to 50 year olds, the majority of Eurovision viewers are well below that age, and those that vote are well below that age. They don't want ballads, trads, haunting melodies, and nervous performers, they want an appealing, upbeat, catchy 3 minute professional entertainment show. You have got to hit the ground running in the first 10 seconds, and not take a 1 minute warm-up to get into the chorus. First impressions are everything, and we take too long to make that impression, by then the viewer has fell asleep.

The Eastern countries have demonstrated how to approach the contest, choose, market, perform, and win it. That's the model, we must follow suit. Until then, we'll never even compete.

Well as it turned out, without your 7 points plus 12 from our good friends in Malta, we'd have had nil points.

All the Balkans voted for each other....again.

I doubt I will watch it next year.

Take it from Partizan and take it from me, the way to beat the Balkans at the voting at Eurovision is as follows. The best band in Serbia are called the Orthodox Celts who come from Belgrade and play Irish music and they write their own songs. If we had them singing an original Irish song in the Eurovision all the Balkans would vote for them. We would end up with around 60 points in total which should avoid embarrassment and qualify for the final proper in 2009.

The way for Ireland to compete again is to find a foxy Russian girl and get her to sing a disco song. Simple as that.

    Do you like Irish Stew?

That's Dustin's cry for help before tonight's selection of the Irish entry for Eurovision in Belgrade.

Officially there are 6 finalists, but in reality, only one. With the Dublin accent, the OTT rave music, and the questionable cheoreography all on show, the turkey basically has the vote and show all to himself. "Irlande Douze Points" is about as Irish to culture, as driving on the right.

Now, I'm off to enquire where "the Danube flows through France"?

That was a funny show, with that Marija one being called a man, her calling Dustin a Duck, her calling Marc Roberts old.
I thought Dustin could have been catchier but still voted for him
I loved Leona and Liam. Thought they both had great voices, Leona had the better song, very unique and chucking the coat will help. Liam seemed lovely, bless, sang really well and he really had his heart in it. Voted for the both of them too.
Do like Marc Roberts voice as before, but it was old fashioned song, marija was right
That first guy Donal was ****e, a clone of s club 7/steps p!sh! No thanks!
    Leona, Liam or Dustin Please!!!!

First and last guy was rubbish. The Dublin who wrote a song with the guy who wrote one for Duffy was good. The others were no marks, so Dustin gets my vote!

Other issues, Louis Walsh liked the young boy with the floppy hair, what a surprise, Dana needs to get a life, and the winner last year was so arrogant for having won it it was funny!

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
