Bray players have voted for strike action.

Meanwhile Hugh Douglas has had to pay for his own treatment on a knee injury. https://twitter.com/hughie_douglas/s...27695843741696

I don't think asking a load of other lads to go and strike and lose their wages before seeing if the people who are affected can achieve something by going on strike themselves first is needed...my only net point.

I don't think anyone is anything other than ****ed off with the entire debacle there,

That is truly shocking, have the owners in Bray no idea of personal responsibility , FAI should intervene......

Just on the reforming thing, if Bray are to fold then I think Wicklow Wanderers would be better than limiting their support to Bray.

Presumably THE PFAI will be advising their members not to pass an official picket and their fellow members in the opposition will honor that ? it would be a surprise if PFAI allowed members pass one of their own official pickets. similarly as has been said, underage players are unlikely to pass an official picket ? When bray are playing away (say Dalymount for example) can they then picket that ground as their designated workplace ?

Oh, and will PFAI be pursuing the club legally for breach of contract ?

That's an interesting one, if the Bray players were picketing and the Cork players wouldn't pass the picket what happens ??

Do they literally have to be in the ground to show they are in a position to play the fixture?

If the cork city players are unwilling to pass a picket then cork are not in a position to play the fixture.

If the cork city players are willing to pass a picket they are all filthy dirty SCABS.

Either way I think we can all agree cork city must shoulder most of the blame for the situation.

Cork could arrive early before any picketers. Getting home might be more complicated but three points are three points.

In all seriousness this raises a huge moral dilemma for Cork players to do their job for their club they have to pass a picket it’s slightly undiscovered country in the LOI.

I don't think there's any benefit to any one of letting that situation occur. I imagine City would be asking the FAI to confirm whether the game will be played before travelling.

That said, we've been in this position, and I can't imagine our lads passing a picket like this. It wouldn't be in the interest of any players in the league to do so. And they're PFAI members.

Tougher on the u19s to make that decision. Likely not PFAI members yet and they're basically kids.

Yeah I thought that earlier, if the 19s/17s get asked to turn out what will they do? You’d like to think their coaches would protect them and say no, but who knows?

I doubt it would come to the point of being a physical picket at the fixture. The players would assert their right to strike and the FAI would simply cancel the fixture with blame assigned to Bray Wanderers, so no picket for Cork to pass.

That would have to be it! Cork wont be put in the position of not fulfilling the fixture.

If Bray insist on their ability and intention to fulfill the fixture, it would present the FAI with a dilemma around potentially cancelling the fixture and awarding the match to the opposition

FAI giving Bray until Monday to pay players or sanctions will be imposed
