    Home support this season

What kind of numbers will UCD have as a home crowd this year ? My mate plays for them so i've caught a few games over the years. I'm gonna try my best to catch a few this year again.

In the last season in the premier our average was about 700 to 750. That's an average though, including the big gates the dublin clubs bring. Crowds can drop to about 5-600 for games against provincial clubs.

The best way to judge home support is to check the crowd against a far away club like Finn Harps. I'd say about 5-600 will be right.

We'll have a couple of hundred with us to Belfield i'd imagine. We have a fair few supporters in the capital and our travelling support will be increased this season

Ok then just so you Harps fans don't feel bad might I point out that Bray is also a good indicator of home support as they generally don't bring many to Belfield.

The point is though that you won't have the majority of the crowd which will make it easier to tell how many home fans there are.

O.K. Sorry, No offence intended. I only picked Harps because it's far away.

To get back to the oroginal question about numbers. I'll still say 5-600.

Wasn't last year but that's probably down to being in the first division. Who's your friend that plays for us BTW?

In fairness, Bray was our biggest crowd by some distance in the league last season - 150 more than anyone else. Waterford or Derry would be our lowest crowds, with Cork not much better.

Was the Rocketman around in the last year in the Premier? Haven't noticed him too much since the switch to summer soccer, really.

Well compared to the Dublin clubs we wouldnt bring that many, but it's nearly always bewtween 50-100

    I'm not trolling, honest
As i had a cousin who played for ucd a few seasons back i used to go ou to see them when i could, and still have a bit of a soft spot for them so have seen quite a bit of Robbie Martin over the past few seasons.

Best word to describe him is inconsistant, he seems like a real confidence player and when things are going his way he is superb, but when its the other way around he's head drops. Lighting fast with good skill as well

I reckon a good indicator of our core support as in those who will go no matter what and it wouldn't really drop below is abut 150. That was the amount who turned up to the Limerick game at the end of last season in the darkness and ****ing rain against very poor opposition.

Pretty much spot on, I'd say. He's actually our fifth-highest scorer of all time! But he had a bad time with injuries, which hit his confidence I'd say. Plus, we weren't exactly playing attacking football under Doolin...! Still, 15 goals last season which has hopefully has done his confidence some good...

I'd agree with that; when he's on form he's brilliant, very good in one-on-ones, fast and a good finisher. He started last season really strongly, something like 4 goals in the first 4 games (no doubt I'll be corrected on the figure but a lot of goals anyway!) but then went through a period where he wasn't scoring and didn't really look like he was going to break the sequence any time he had a chance. When he got his next goal I think he scored in the next three games too.

ever since playing with him at schoolboy he could score a goal out of nowhere which was always good for the team. At Belvo playing with the likes of Wes Houlihan he was banging the goals in aswell and they had a savage team. I think he's gonna give it a big effort again this year so hopfully he'l keep banging them in and stay injury free. It'l be good seeing him against Stephen Gray for Drogs in the 2nd game cause he used to be on our team aswell, and they'll be up against each other.
