Glens gain upper hand

In a dress rehearsal for the sides’ two meetings in this year’s Setanta Cup tournament, Glentoran inflicted a heavy defeat on Irish League champions Linfield in the Nationwide Irish Cup sixth round replay at Windsor Park on Tuesday night.
First half goals from Mark Glendinning, his 10th of the season, and Tim McCann laid the foundation for the Glens’ victory, which keeps them on course to defend the trophy they won against Coleraine last May.
