Rumours abound that the LDMC have visions of starting an eL U21 team. There were 2 in Limerick. Limerick FC disbanded their's, so that leaves 1 vacancy.
Developing Jackman Park could be the start of a bid by LDMC to run the senior team in Limerick.

the under 21 set up is not one short! It isnt done on a certain amount of teams basis its done on a regional one. One season Kilkenny were in a Leinster section, Limerick pulled out next Kilkenny were in a munster section.

Im not slagging you off or anything but the notion of jackman park being developed is laughable. Do you know what their plans are for that dump? sell an area to CIE who will build a fly-over, over a section of the far side. Then, "shur it will be like a stand wont it?" In short as it has only one exit it isnt safe to build anything there, and no a second exit isnt possible as none other can be accquired. Limerick Corporation made an offer to demolish one of the flat complex's and build houses in there, i say to the LDMC (Who are reading this by the way) take the money and go elsewhere. In the ideal world the LDMC would come onboard with Limerick in Rathbane but that situation dont seem to exist or ever will.

    Gael353,

My point was missed due to my inability to highlight my previous posting - the original posting was in July 2004, prior to the new Limerick FC setup.

The LDMC have had intentions, since last summer or before, of entering a team into the U21 league. It's nothing new.

Also around that time I put up a posting about UL/AA U21 team being willing to act as a feeder to the Limerick FC senior team and an offer was made to the old regime via the FAI. As far as I am aware that offer is still on the table.
