Darragh rainsford you must be kidding its backwards were going , no disrespect to him but he had plenty of chances and never shown anything to say he's league of Ireland standard , must be frustrating for mc donald I wonder was he told he would have **** all to spend when he joined
Looking at Limerick's current transfer policy we're more likely to sign Darragh Rainsford, who was previously turfed out of the club than Vinny Faherty. The mind boggles.
I'd much rather we sign neither the whole lets rebuild the relegation squad thing baffles me.
Kelly, Paul O Connor. And robbie all put on the transfer list. WTF is going on?
Freddy and Tony sign new deals.
Big news is Robbie Shaun Kelly and Paul O Conor free to go.
Anyone else thinking that rumour about Robbie may be more than just a rumour
All three have kind of settled here so very surprising. Maybe a kick in the arse for a few?
Out of interest what odds are we to be relegated lol
Williams is a shock alright. One bad game against Galway and he's gone? And where are the incomers?
Definitely a new broom sweeping clean feel to this but we wanted an omelette so we can't be crying too much over the broken eggs that's needed to make it I guess.
You have to think he is very confident of more than one impressive arrival in the window, to be swinging the axe like this.
Interesting few days ahead chaps.
Robbie is a very good player and if he had got himself in shape he would easily be one of the best centre backs in Ireland.
Every pre-season for the last three years I've heard it said Robbie is in the best shape yet but come the start of the season he never looks it.
The players have been transfer listed not released. They can stay and fight for their places if they want. Obviously in most cases once you are transfer listed you are gone but you never know.
The only one of those three that would worry me is O'Connor, would have liked to have seen more of him. Think Shaun and Robbie will find other clubs but realistically they're not players for a top-half club if that's what we want to be.
That said, I hope there are replacements lined up soon..
Honestly a bit concerned about the financial situation at the club.
This is bizarre. None of these guys are world betters but they are good squad players and are conceivable better than some of those currently playing. I'd definitely have Shaun Kelly starting over a converted Dean Clarke. Do we even have a proper right back other than Kelly? O'Conor is a decent back up midfielder while Robbie who I always felt was liability will be missed for his leadership in the squad.
We are half way through a season and we are nowhere near safe from relegation. For McDonald to start swinging the axe like this now is crazy stuff. This has the potential to destabilise the squad and leave us short in many areas. We are already well down at left back and left midfield but you can now add centre midfield and right back to that. I doubt there are 4/5 players ready to come in in less then a week that are better than what we already have.
McDonald is wielding the axe that this club has been crying out for more or less ever since Pat started waving money around.
You can't be nicey nicey touchy feely and win things.
I'll be especially sorry to see Shaun Kelly go a gentleman and not a bad player.
But the lads being left go the last week are victims of a malaise that's been around the club years.
It's way too early to say if Neil McDonald is any good or not but even in his short time here he has done the club some service.
I think a couple of stragglers will be brought in to bring us coasting to the end of yet another expensive pointless season (we are absolutely safe from relegation) with McDonald starting again next January.
I've heard the rumours about the finances aswell but I think rumours of our demise are gonna be exaggerated over the next week or so.. seems to be a big rift between the new boss and the old boss.
What are their contract positions?
If they find new clubs they will absolutely have to be replaced this week.
