    eL fixtures released

Lads, it will be totally unreal if City win the league this year, with all the fixing that has gone on with the "fixtures" ...... If City actually do manage the impossible with all the odds stacked aganist them, it'll be real salt in the wounds for anyone that was involved with the match fixing.

    Come on City !!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

You can hardly call it bleedin' match fixing in fairness, the fixtures had to favour someone, such is the retardness of the 33 matches a season system.

Well if you think that the fixture list, as made out by Hayes, is "fair", you've got your head up your *ss.
Why can't the fixture list be made out by computer?

City were utterly screwed with the fixtures last season, 1 home game in the first month, and the whole of September without a home game, and now having to travel to $hels AND Bohs twice.
With the exception of 6 games out of 33, Bohs have to travel an hour or less from their own ground for the other 27 matches. They might even get some travelling support now......

The problem is that there is no "draw". Some guy sits down and decides this, no element of randomness or chance comes into it.

Assuming they do not change the make-up in the two divisions and let nature take it's course the following should happen:-
Next year (2006) the fixture should in fairness be the opposite of this years fixtures. Which means Cork will be on the pigsback .

    Thread of the month methinks

If I was you I would demand an independent judicial enquiry- ring Ollie, he'll know what to do.

Talk about paranoia. If you are as good as Dolan says you are you'll win it anyway

Calling it a fix or a scandal is a total over-reaction. The fixtures don't favour us this season- thats the way it is now. My opinion is that the "draw" should be done by computer, not by one individual. There's nothing we can do about it now, but in fairness, nobody was complaining about it beforehand, when they KNEW how it was going to be done. We as fans, and CCFC as a club, have been around this league long enough to know we an't expect any favours, hell, even fair treatment is a rarity in some respects. We know that, and the only thing we can do is win the league DESPITE this travesty.

So, no excuses, no complaints, lets get on with it, and show everyone what we're made of.

I think what bothers Cork City fans most is

    • we have more aways games than home games

    • some of our double aways games are against some of the best teams

    • some of our double home games are some of the less attractive fictures which usually results in smaller attendences

the draw for cork city just highlights that a 33 game season is a farce and we are the losers this year...

saying that I'm a Cork exile in Dublin... so lots of "home" games for me

agree with all of those. It is ridiculous, and thats why the 33 game season is an absolute joke

    BUT

It wasn't a draw ...... It wasn't done fairly ...... City yet again are in a situation where others in the league have the chance to claim we are paranoid when fairness should have come into play.

And lads, i fúckin' hate the league right now and anytime it fúcks up and no matter what any of you say, we have been shat on again. That is the short of it. I know i know ... we'll get over it .... in time ..... but for fúcks sake why does it never even appear to fall our way. It'd make you feel like throwing the towel in and join the fúckin' barstoolers.

Why are people calling you paranoid?

Derry have more home games than away games, so does half the League

Derry play 3 of last seasons top four away twice

I have to see one Derry fans on moaning about "match fixing". Use of terms like this, and other sensationalist terms will obviously allow people to draw conclusions.

You lot make as if it was a deliberate ploy by the FAI to outwit the Rebel Army. As if Michael Hayes sat for months deciding on how to screw you over.
As soon as we knew it was going to be three series of games(mid December), there was a 50% chance that you were going to have more away games than home games

Are you saying it is fair cos you are nearly in the same boat ?
What has that got to do with fairness.

You wouldn't have to draw very far to come up with my conclusion.
Bare in mind ........ these fixtures could practically be handing the title to Shels. That might not mean very much to you to be honest, but right now it seriously undermines an effort City will make to get the title. City are in a realistic position to win the title this year. This could be taken from us by the administration of the league.

Look at it this way ..... (even have a shot off it yourself) .... how would you go about making a worse fixture list for us ??????
Very very harder to do it ....... thus ........ we have been given the worst deal possible as regard fixtures

As soon as we knew it was going to be three series of games(mid December), there was a 50% chance that you were going to have more away games than home games
I hear what you are saying .... i really do ...... BUT THIS is the point

It wasn't a roll of the dice

It wasn't the luck of the draw, something random, drawing straw or similar ..... someone sat down and put thought into it. I dont care about the extra away games, ...... what is píssin' me off is that the other title contenders are given an advantage over us in the league and the impact is huge. Gate receipts, crowds, travel.

I dont give a toss how any of you try and reason it ...... i am chalkin' it down as just another time when City have been compromised by this league.
