good publicity for the club. the more kids see ericom League players in general on tv etc, the more they'll take an interest

Thats one of the main problems with promoting the game in this country. People find it very hard to relate to a team when they dont know anyone in it.

Its much easier especially for kids to follow/enjoy the game if they have some link with whos playing. I bring the two brothers to the games sometimes and found that there interest has shot up the more players they begin to know.

At the start they are going to see a game of football, nothing more nothing less. After a few games they are going to see for example Weso (who kids tend to love). It becomes more then just a game to them. They dont tend to care or even understand that the quality is not as good. When they can see someone from the TV they will enjoy it and want to come back.

The beor on Sattitude didn't help. She was encouraging the young players with comments like "You could be the next Beckham" rather than referring to EL players. At least Keano got a mention.

Been a problem for a while now but the best known people in the eL are managers, not players.

He was also a regular on the international scene at U-21 level but is now overage. Fans reckon he can't be too far away from a full senior cap.

John's list of accolades include six U-21 caps and four goals. He also has a winner's medal from the Portugal U15 Tournament, a Kennedy Cup Medal with Cork U14 and a Munster Senior Cup Medal. Hmmm. I reckon his girl friend did not want him hanging around with dat lovely Ballincollig chick.

Keep it on the hush hush, but I've heard from a friend of a friend of a friend of his uncle's that he was in England having talks with a Conference side...................you heard it here first.
