I think it's covered under the general FAI rules: http://www.fai.ie/sites/default/file...uly%202017.pdf

And then there's the 'make it up as you go along' effect also.

But how are people to know if you're referring to the drink or the team ?

Especially as your style of play would suggest a strong association between the two.

I think McCourt prefers a Guinness tbh.

I'm asking given a discussion about the use of 4th (and 5/6th) in some IFA competitions where the rules fail to give them the required authority to replace injured officials, as well in some cases even the authority to take part in a competition at all!

I noticed their use in the FAI Cup Final and was wondering if the FAI had covered such in their rules. I suspect your latter comment me be unfortunately correct.

Happened to be in Dublin on the day, and was in two minds wether to go or not, sadly decided to go for the earlier ferry, which I actually missed , and ended up shopping in town (got my crimbo pressie, managed to track down copy of "Atlas of war of independence")
Anyway had I had gone, would have had a dilemma into who to have rooted for, being from Wrexham in north wales , would I have rooted for Cork and the link with Brian Carey, or Dundalk and an even older link with Alun Fox, who I believe is still very much revered in Dundalk.

Yes Alan fox is always spoken as an era. Around the the early 60's. Way before my time though.

More about Sheppard's transfer saga. Don't know if it really belongs here but didn't want to clog up the transfer thread with it either.

    https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2017...y-trust-kenny/

Sheppard says that Kenny took his decision not to switch with good grace

"I made the decision on the Friday. I spoke to Stephen the day before I signed back with Cork. I said to him, ‘look Stephen, I think you went against what we spoke about'.

"He said that he didn’t want it to come out that way, that it wasn’t his intention in not denying it. I said that if it we had one agreement, I couldn’t really trust you then if you went against it. In fairness to him he’s quite a nice guy and he took it very well. He apologised if it came across that way.

"I was expecting a bit of abuse down the phone, but he is a nice guy and was good about it.

"I’m delighted to be back at Cork. I could have made a good bit more money going to Dundalk."

It's worth listening to it to get better context https://www.rte.ie/radio/radioplayer...2D12%2D2017%5F

It's all worth a listen but he starts talking about the final around 34 minutes in.

I always thought mark mcnulty was just a mediocre (at best) tosser living off of other people's efforts. You know the type, the snakey, weedy fella who'd hang around with the school bully.

But now, having skimmed over that, I realise he has learning difficulties and I feel bad.

Let's all make it our new years resolution to be nicer to mark in the coming season.
