    Friendly versus Ballymote

I hear Rovers will play a strong side in this game on Saturday next. Connor will give all new signings a run out at some stage.

finished 6-0 to rovrers, faz looks a good player,Curran had some nice touches, Alvarez looks a bit of a cocky fella, funny when he gave out stink to some auld fella on side line for not raising his flag for off-side

Very easy win Rovers alright. Dunno what to make of that Alvarez fella, doesn't look fantastic. Good to see Ryan O'Donnell in a Rovers shirt. Ross McGlynn was playing, the first half anyways i think.

    ballymote friendly

was in ballymote today.rovers played well ..lost count of the score..i think it was either 4 or 5 nil.
very impressed with our new boy FAZ, i think he might be the kind of player we need, he seems to be interested!
others that impressed...ryan o donnell, ralf, and foley.
a couple of points...jury is out on alvarez,
    who played in goals today.

    jez...it was cold there yesterday.
ok, these games might mean nothing , but its no harm to get a few games in.
junior soccer is as tough as ya can get, so no harm for a bit of action for the new boys
remember eddie gormley ...ex st pats...played i think with either kildare or dublin city, actually it might have been bray.
he came to the showgrounds back a couple of years ago, and kicked the sh..t out of every one that came in his way.it was at the start of the season and half the team ended up in the casualty ward.
o riordan thought a friendly in the showgrounds against galway would be great for our lads....and we know what happened after that.

I think you better remind us roversfan, what happened after that.

Faz (as I am sure he will be referred to) looked a composed player, good on the ball, always looking for it and making a pass. However, I was very impressed with Gary Curran, I think he could be one to watch this season, he looks strong and has good skill.

Other players of note were McCartney and Ryan O'Donnell. Even though the keeper had little to do, he semed in command with plenty of communication with the defence, which I would still have worries about, we desperately need to improve the defence if we have any hopes of promotion.

As for Carlos, yep I agree the jury is still out on him, he looks and runs awkwardly.

Actually I was impressed with Carlos, apart from scoring two goals he put in a few crosses into the box. He passed well and I'd say he has a bit of fight in him. The linesman got an earful from him for an offside which the ref gave. McCarthy had a very good game. Faz is certianly a quality player. Overall it was good run out. Conditions were poor, as were the opposition so its difficult to judge. The Irish League should be a better test.

Ya i have to agree with you about carlos looked sharpe enough in the first half, looked eager and took up some good positions and took his goals fairly well, faded a bit in the second half but this is to be expected when he has'nt played a game in a while. He looks like he will be a useful player for us, when he settles a bit.

Faz looks good too, looked v compose and has a bit a class about him, spread the ball around well.
