Cork City: Devine; Daly, Napier, Coughlan, Horgan; Buckley, O’Grady, Bennett, Cahill; O’Brien, Morley.

Two good (and well overdue) decisions by Murphy to drop Hartigan and Carey. Hartigan is just sh!te and Carey has looked a bit burned out in the last few weeks.

MICHAEL Devine was on top form as Cork City got back to winning ways with an important win over Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds.

Devine made a couple of outstanding saves to deny the Seasiders – and at the other end, Ollie Cahill and the recalled Pat Morley got the goals that counted for the Leesiders, who have been off-form recently.

After 18 minutes, Morley liad the ball off to Cahill inside the box and his low drive beat Matt Gregg. Seconds later he blazed over as well as Cork looked to press home their advantage.

But then Devine made a world-class save to deny Jason Byrne, who hit a first-time left-foot shot on the turn at edge of the area. It was going in the top corner before Devine intervened.

Then he tipped a 30yarder over from Colm Tresson, before Eddie Gormley got away from Conor O’Grady and the keeper smothered it.

After the break, Bray had another couple of chances. Gormley went close with a free-kick and Paul Keegan headed wide before Byrne was again denied by Devine.

On the hour mark a corner by Cahill wasn’t cleared and O’Grady knocked it back into the danger area. Alan Bennett flicked the ball into Morley, who looked to be in an offside position, and the veteran striker blasted home for the second and killer goal.

I only saw what they showed on television, but well done to the team for picking themselves up from last week. Are City the most frustrating team in the league? They certainly can be the most inconsistent. It is great to be smiling on Monday though !

Maybe Bray are? Getting whipped by us at home, then going to inform Derry in the Brandywell and winning, now thats inconsistancy
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
