Which Spanish team do you support?

Me? Real Madrid. Got a Real jersey when I was about 5 and went to see them training when I was 11, just fell in love with the club. Then got some autographs through a friend of a friend and when I was living there, I got to go to games.

Juventus. It's great being able to follow the league on Setanta this year.

    Barcelona.

Always has a soft spot for them. As mentioned before, I'm a United fan, Mark hughes was my favourite player. He moved to Barca in about '85 (I think) and I became aware of them, kept an occasional eye on them from then until I eventually visited the City for the first time in '99, went for the Camp Nou tour, watched them play Arsenal in the CL and had a ball, lovely people around the club too who looked after me.

If someone's allowed start a thread asking what English team people support then I see no difference in myself or Eanna starting threads about Italian or Spanish teams. They are all afterall foreign leagues. Bias should not be shown towards one foreign league over another!
Let's just hope nobody starts a thread on the Scottish league.... that could get interesting!!

The Nou Camp is certainly on my 'to do' list. Hopefully soon as well. Probably early next (Spanish) season.

It was funny the other day, Johann Cruyff said of the current Barca team that they lack Flair and Imagination, and their defence is seriously lacking. What ever about their defence (which is the best they have had in years), the first two assertions are complete cobblers.

You'll need plenty of semtex to "do" the Camp Nou. I'll give ya a hand though

another reason to hate Barca. Any club where that arrogant twerp is regarded as a hero deserves nothing but contempt.

It looks childish, and only serves to re-affirm non eL fans attitudes of eL fans. Thats why they were merged.

Bias? They are all merged together now, so there can be no categorisation.

Dont be daft. Everyone knows there is only one team in Scotland who all Irish people must follow religously !!!!

    Forza Parma.

since 1991. Went on a trip to Buhrmingem with the soccer team (then u/11's) and saw the Parma jersey. Bought it for a tenner or so and followed them religiously ever since. Never been to the Stadio Ennio Tardini though. And if they get relegated this season I may never do as they will fall by the way of Fiorentina.

They were consistently brilliant for the 11/12 yrs and they have been in Europe in consequtive(sp) seasons than any other Italian teams. Think of all the great strikers in the scudetto more often than not they've passed through Parma.
    Hernan Crespo
    Marco di Viao
    Pippo and simone Inzaghi
    Adrian Mutu
    Adriano
The latest is Gilardino. He will become one of the greats.
    Then there is the greats
    Zola
    Asprilla

    Ah memories.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

Well in Italy I like Juventus cause when Dino Zoff was still playing he was a hero of mine.

In Germany I like Borussia Dortmund although they are going to be tossed into the Amateur 3rd Division at the end of the season cause they are €100 million in the red.

Speaking of Red , my other favourites are Crvena Zvezda of Beograd from Serbia... that's Red Star Belgrade to the uninitiated. This dates back to the 1974 World Cup when having watched the Italians disappoint I was enchanted by the Yugoslavia side led by Dragan Dzajic. He played for the Zvezda at the time.
I got to see the stadium got the guided tour of the trophy room and bought a video in the gift shop during my visit to the city in December 2003.
Next time I go to Belgrade will hope to see the YugoCandystripes in action.

Well they are currently in second three points behind Partizan and they Black and White stripes have the UEFA Cup to distract them while the rest of the First Federal League enjoys a winter break.
    I ja sam zvezdash

Always liked the names of some of the Scottish teams; Elgin City, Hammilton Acc's but my fav Scottish team is Berwich Rangers. Reasons; that song that they had on They Think Its All Over and because they are actually in England, not Scotland, they are the Anti-Celtic/Rangers
    Oh no not them again

Rovers-my dad brought me to my fisrt game when i was 10, 25/3/94 v shels. then i started going regularly about 13 years old.round end of 96/97 season
    teams i look out for
    Celtic:irish history
Napoli:maradona and crazy fans. averaging 40,000 in serie C1 B.saw them play in san paolo stadium last season.
Barcelona:saw them in the Barcelona derby v rcd espanyol some years ago. Rivaldo scored 2 and kluivert got one.like their history.like the no-sponsors on shirts too though that trait will soon be history. also a beautiful city
Boca Juniors: looked out for their results ever since Maradona rejoined in 1995.i remember watching a clip around that time on tv of Boca fans going mental after Diego was sent off, and the fire brigade had to be called in to hose the fans back after they tried to climb over the 30ft fences at the front of the terraces. crazy fans
    panathinaikos:good crest,good colors.good fans.links with Rovers ultras
cliftonvillene of the few nationalist teams in the IL. saw them last year v linfield, good trip with about 80 Rovers fans running amok

As for the game itself, Ill be in London anyway, so why not. It was either that or Man U Vs Palace, but to go to that I would have had to get a ticket for a grade B game also, which, at sterling exchange rates, is far too expensive.

Thinking of going over to Villa agin in August maybe.
charlotn v fulham not too bad.

Would have been hard to be at Everton v Chelsea in London when it was being played in Everton.

I grew up in Derry, but I've been in Cork for the last 7 years, so both cities get my affection.
Outside Ireland, I tend to look out for teams of places I've been to: Anderlecht, Barcelona, DC United (MLS cup champs 2004), Montpellier, Ajax, Sampdoria, Everton (saw them beat West Ham 5-0). The exceptions are Paris, where I spent a year - PSG are hopeless and often painful to watch; and Milan - saw AC Milan v Lazio in San Siro (2-2), despite a great game I can never feel drawn to either of those clubs, nor Inter.
