    Liam McMahon retires from football

Cobh Ramblers manager, Liam McMahon has been in charge at St Coleman's Park on four different occasions over the last 30 years leading the club to an FAI Cup Semi-Final in 1983.

Rambers, who have lost their last seven league games, are currently bottom of the eircom first division with just 20 points from 24 games.

Current assistant manager, John Murphy was expected to take over as boss but he is unable to do so because of work commitments.

Cobh officials hope to have a appoint new manager in place by their next league game against Athlone on Saturday week.
