    U2 win Three Grammys

'Vertigo' won U2 three Grammy Awards last night, and the band played a moving version of 'Sometimes...'.

'Vertigo' took the Grammy for 'Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocal', 'Best Rock Song' and 'Best Short Form Music Video'.

Introducing "Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own,', Bono dedicated it to his father, who died in 2001, someone who sang opera into the night in a beautiful tenor voice.

'I'd like to think when he passed away he gave that to me,' he said. 'I wish I'd got to know him better.'

Receiving the award of 'Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group' Larry took the opportunity to reiterate an apology to fans who had been unable to get tickets for the upcoming 'Vertigo' Tour.

Bono later joined Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones and members of Velvet Revolver for a special benefit performance of The Beatles' track 'Across The Universe'.

The track is available now from iTunes and funds raised will benefit victims of the Indonesian Ocean tsunami tragedy. http://www.cbs.com/specials/47grammys/index.shtml

The late Ray Charles was the big winner of the 47th Grammy Awards ceremony in LA - winning eight Grammys for his posthumous duets collection, 'Genius Loves Company', including Record and Album Of The Year.

The bloody Meteor awards have more credibility than Grammys at this stage.

I think I'll try for one next year, there can't be too much competition in the
"Best Harpischord Use in Death metal / World Music collaboration" category
