I know McGrath played at right back and made, I believe, wee Davy Cooper, look ordinary . The tv coverage also missed Lawrenson's goal initially as it did a replay of an earlier incident.

Yes, one of the most important goals in Irish history and we almost miss it. Such a pity that Lawrenson missed Euro 88 due to an injury. It must still hurt him not to have been there and he might have been the difference between us and a semi-final place. Class player.

p.s. Wonder what Charlton and the police inspector are talking about. Is Charlton being told to sit down ?

Think so. With Lawrenson and Brady in midfield supported by Galvin and Houghton out wide.

One of only 10 caps for Colgan. Didn't realise he got that many https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Colgan Could any of the Drogs supporters fill in the missing appearances for that club?

Lying in a hospital bed in Merlin Park with my 2nd of many knee surgeries. Rang the nurses bell when Mattie scored, got in trouble.

The most healing in an Irish goal award goes to Matty Holland. It was medicinal, it was more than a goal, it stopped the country from bleeding out

Yesterday was 29 years since Ray put the ball in the English net.

Adn 5 years since I imbibed a lot of vodka with some Croatians in Poznan. Well... that's what Bookface said anyway.

Five years on Saturday it seems - http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/18180105

Same as that, kind of, I ended up swapping jerseys with one of them. Mine was a brand new, swanky looking training top. His was a well worn unofficial away jersey, about two sizes too big for me and soaked in b.o. It seemed like the right thing to do at the time though.
