Sheridan was right footed? Maybe you're getting him mixed up with Shels legend, Tony Sheridan.

The left footer is Sheridan's twin, Kevin Sheedy, it's an easy mix up to make. Give CTP some slack on this one.

Without thinking too deeply, his goal against Israel is probably my favourite, despite the match being a torturefest.

I agree, this was his best. A great decoy run as well in the build-up by Andy Reid. Although Israel was not far behind either. I remember a cracker in a friendly against Denmark too before 2002 World Cup
Folding my way into the big money!!!

He was trying to break that record in a previous match I remember when he wouldn’t pass to better placed players.

    Still though, what a player

60 years today since John Giles made his debut against Sweden in a friendly
He scored in that game too. Can't find any video footage of the game, but there's a description of Giles' goal and a short interview with Jackie Carey after the game available here via RTE Archives

Has it only been 10 years? RTE have a couple of articles up about Paris and Martin Hansson:

    https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2019...l-10-years-on/

    https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2019...artin-hansson/

Duff's comment is interesting at the end of the second article.
