Cork City have been on TV more than anyone else this season. Dundalk next, then Shamrock Rovers.

Interesting that for this season, my main point was that clubs should get something even if it's only 3 or 4k to off set the gate decrease when matches are on telly. Not to mention cases like harps having to close the club shop...its mad ted.

That would explain RTE not paying to broadcast games, but what about Eir Sport ? They shouldn't be getting content for their schedule for free.

Explains nothing as it's a myth. RTÉ has no deal with the FAI re international games, all done through UEFA, FIFA and EBU. FAI sell rights to international friendlies to Sky. RTÉ have a separate deal for the League and Cup. Been banging my head against a wall about this rubbish for years.

So if RTE have a specific deal with the FAI for League and Cup coverage, surely there are payments involved ?

Credit where credit is due, was expecting Tolka to be a big kip but in fairness the place while old was very tidy even the jacks was a lot better than the last time. the pitch was in great nick, Shocking crowd 1300 max with the vast majority Rovers.

That not a decent crowd for Shelbourne? What was the capacity for tonight's match?

Extratime gave a crowd of just over 1700 in their report. Not bad considering the boycott and all

Ironic really that Rovers supporters who used to picket outside Tolka were inside last Friday with Shels fans boycotting Tolka.
Thought the crowd was a little disappointing from a Shels perspective (their own supporters attending), you'd imagine given the teams they play every week that all the Shels support would show up for an old school derby like this...
Makes you wonder how many will show up in Dalymount if and when that is built ??

On the flip-side, what do Bohs supporters suspect will be the attendance when they move to Tolka next season (presuming that does ahead as planned). Will they still be able to average 1900 at home matches, considering Tolka is only 20-30 minutes walking distance from Dalymount.

And does anyone know what the capacity of Tolka is these days. For Bohs vs Rovers, Dalyer does be at, or near, capacity. Would be a shame if the end up having to turn away patrons for the Dublin derby.

that will be critical for Bohs cos they could be there for 3 or 4 seasons at least...if crowds fall off big time they are up the creek

Tolka capacity can't be any more than 4,000 these days at maximum. It wouldn't take much to open up the closed off parts of the ground though, little bit of TLC.

    It's their cup final.

The attendance reflects poorly on Rovers as well as Shels - even if there is no direct bus from Tallaght and a MyPosts spaceship being clamped, 1700 between two Dublin clubs is dire

It was their cup final, not ours.

I seriously doubt we will be leaving Dalymount until a timetable is set for a return. There's no point in us playing in Tolka while Dalyer is left to rot while we are in limbo. I'll be stunned if we are not back in Dalyer next season unless something radical is proposed in the meantime.
