    Portuguese kit a bit racist.

It seems to me that there was more black than white on the portuguese kit last night. what does this signify? do you think that it was a bit racist?

    You serious?

What ever about the Portuguese kit the Ref should have been wearing a different colour than that grey/white one that kept blending in with the Portuguese players
    Oh no not them again

It didin't have any brown or yellow either - imagine my outrage (cue: woman in clontarf )

Think it was a great idea to play in black and white. Didn't see any of the Eng Hol game but did Holland do the same & was it the same kit as Portugal?

Would be nice if Nike put the shirts on sale as I would like to get my hands on one.

thought the kit was quite nice actually.but nike got it totally wrong when trying to portray a sense of equality.the shorts were completely black,i think black and white shorts would have been more appropriate along with one sock white and the other black.

    Nike publicity

I read something about Gary Neville voicing complaints about
Nike using the anti racism card to get publicity.

In the warm up before Man U Arsenal game himself and 3 others
refused to wear the training tops because of it.

He was also on about Terry Henry and Ronildhino doing anti racism
press conferences and mentioning Nike every so often!

(Only half read it so mightnt be fully accurate)

Oh, and the ref's choice of kit for last nights match was terrible.
Hard to tell the difference between it and the Portugal keepers kit

Agreed. Lost count of times i thought Portugese player had dummied the ball. Also i think Portugese player played a one-two off the ref in the 2nd half.

I suppose Newcastle & Juventus jerseys are racist too?

No that can't be said.the whole point of the kit last night was to show there support for the anti-racism campaign.think they were sending out the wrong message though.

Anyone ever watch Eurogoals? They showed highlights of last weeks PSG v Lens game. In it PSG wore white and Lens black it was suposd to be an anti rascist message but as the commentator pointed out, if you are trying to discourage rascism is wise to have black verses white?
Where am I now? I'm over here,

    Good point.

I think i am going to take this further, considering writing to nike to outline my view on their so called anti-racism campaign that is not making any sense to me.Maybe they should review their Human Resource manager and their team in the advertising and marketing department.

Ask them about some of their more questionable employment practices in the Far East while you are at it.....

Yup Holland wore it too.. all the Nike away teams did.

I agree with the whole it is just making money for Nike point..and I think they also simplified racism too much with the jerseys implying that it is just a Black vs. white issue.

The shirts worn by the players are to be auctioned off, there's your chance!

50 cents in production for €100 shoes. Where can I go and work for this shower? Betcha it ain't Long Island that they're paying those wages.

Whatever next? The good colonel from KFC ditching the cone-hat and white robes and getting all multi-culchural and doing a spot of break dancing with da bruvvers? Oh I think that's already been done!
