    USA v Mexico

Wasn't sure if this goes in here or the Current Affairs forum. Being played in Ohio of all places.

    Could be interesting...

There was a great piece about this on Newstalk I think last week, or one of the papers, where they referenced the rivalries of this fixture, and how the USSF deliberately made losses on the gate in order to gain an advantage elsewhere

The fixture was usually played in Pasadena, where there would no many Mexicali supporters and little fervour from the Americali's. They deliberately moved it to Columbus because of their soccer specific stadium and ultras but also because when these games are scheduled the conditions in Ohio are particularly inhospitable compared to Cali. The last 4 games were all 2-0 US victories.

I saw a good bit of last nights game and Mexico could have won by 4 or 5. They were superb.
If I question Liam Scales ability to play intl football, refer me to this signature & his peformance at home at lb vs Port on Nov 13 2025.

A shame it wasn't won with a free kick over a wall!

Has this thread really had over 5800 views ? Must be an awful lot of Mexicans on the site.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
