If I'm not mistaken wasn't it the same guy who tried to offload Stephen Ireland to Sunderland before Mark Hughes veto'd it and Ireland went on to become one of the best players of the season.

And he successfully managed to get rid of Corluka while they're left with the championship quality Micah Richards at right back.
Good bit of business getting rid of Corluka. He's one of the worst right back's I've seen play in England

And let Lescott be playing in that final, and Dunne rise high to score the winning goal above Lescott's head...Maybe Dunne will do what Tevez did to the United Directors then?

Man of the Match performance by Dunne tonight against Arsenal going by highlights on MOTD. What a run towards the end of the game too, if Sol Campbell hadn't tripped him it could have been a Messi type goal!

Dunne should def be in EPL team of the season. Although knowing how that works, Rio will prob get in even though he has missed most of the season.

That challenge by Campbell on Dunne was a definite foul and at least a booking. I wonder if it had been the other way round, with Dunne's rep, would he have got away with it?!??

I think Dunne is getting far more praise since he went to Villa, by the English commentators at least. He could well be on the team of the season alright. Vermaelen would have been another contender but he seems to have done himself a lot of damage.

Dunne's run, definitely brought down, which is a pity as it was a great run and he might have gone on and scored.

Not a chance of him scoring. He was 2 seconds away from a nosebleed.

    Just saw this and thought

If only City could have signed a player like Richard Dunne.

Sometimes it can be hard to attract a player of that quality to your club

Dunne lauded by Fergie ahead of todays match. Fergie calls Villa move to get him "The buy of the year".

Awful mistake today - granted, it was Berbatov, but he had loads of options in front of him and there was no reason to be cutting inside like that. Made up for it with a solid performance though.

Bad mistake alright but unlucky not to recover it.

He still has been a great buy by Villa and could still be the signing of the season.
