He's an incompetent, sensationalist troglodyte who says things for shock value; like a less articulate, fat version of Dunphy. Can't stand him.

All true but he's more knowledgeable than Dunphy which makes his extreme slants somewhat interesting since there's a small element of truth to them. Dunphy just throws together criticisms on limited and often times false pieces of information making his comments worthless.

You'd never hear Dolan claiming Fahey is a full back for example, the man actually knows his ****.

Oh yes he did say "he couldn't manage his back four at Newcastle either"...what a t00l!

I agreed with Dolan once I can't remember what it was but felt that I must be wrong!!

I think he was getting confused with Foley, but point taken.

Dunne interview in the Guardian criticising Domenech: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...ireland-france

IIRC Domenech was linked with the Celtic job at one point, possibly after Wim Jansen left.

Not sure Dunne's criticism is wise.

Any criticism of the opposition needs to be kept behind the dressing room doors and the Captain needs to set the example. Robbies remarks pre the North London Derby didnt exactly help his side.....

In the article link above, the French public booed Domenech and some of the squad players were smirking aparently.

Cheers. Yeah thats it. Its in French but you can hear the jeers loud and clear. Henry having a wry smile, though in fairness so is Domenech. Hard to tell whether this suggests lack of respect for the manager - though Im sure it exists amongst some.

Don't see the problem tbh. He isn't wrong and is merely displaying the fearlessness that'll be needed to win. Moreover everyone and their dog knows the French can have suspect tempraments. If the pressure is raised a little bit, I think it can only help us.

Ireland don't indulge in mind games very often, maybe it'll reinforce our resolve. Although, I agree, it's risky. But it's all or nothing now lads.

He's after getting into a nasty habit of letting the ball bounce as it's coming to him. He got caught out at Croker around 3 times Saturday and last night was lucky to get away with the same. Even for the French "goal" the original ball into the box by Malouda was allowed to bounce in the box and it was Dunne who it bounced over!

Other than that he was very solid and attacking last night.

Watch it again. The French guy (skilachy????) Was swinging out of the neck of his jersey. Another that the linesman didn't see...
I pity the fool!.... But suggest ways that he might improve himself.

You know I think that's how John O'Shea picked up his injury. Dunne let it bounce over him and O'Shea really had to stretch to stop Henry from scoring and he also ran into Given. I have a feeling he did himself damage in that tackle but I could be wrong. It wasn't long after that when he had to be taken off.

Schillachy was clearly interfering and obstrucing Dunne and probably fouling him so he was clearly interfering with play.

I don't blame the referee as much as the linesman.

He had only one big call to make in the game, deciding if the goal was legitimate or not and he made a complete b*lls of it.

He missed the player returning from an offside position and interfering with play, he missed the foul and obstruction on Dunne, he missed the first handball and he missed the second handball.

    Catastrophic officiating from the linesman.

    Mark Hughs sacked today.
He hit out about the manner of his dismissal, I am not sure if that is ironic or not when
you see how the club treated Dunne, I am not sure if Huges wanted Dunne to go though, it sounds like it was a decision forced upon him by the club.
Anyway with Villa fourth and 6 points above Man City, the decision to sell does not look a brilliant one, whoever made it.

Richard Dunnes exit from Man City takes a bit of explaining though.

With the money City have they could have brought in the players that they have kept Richard Dunne and made it clear that Richard had to fight for his place.

Didn't the club spin some tale to Richard that they needed the money which Richard at.

Some one (?) wanted Dunny out of City. Mark Hughes did not put much effort trying to keep him and when you consider that Richard was by far and away the best player at the club for 3 out of the 4 previous years then that shows a lack of appreciation/loyalty from the higher echelons of that club.

When a club pays what they did for Robinho then some ones judgement is HIGHLY suspect. (okay i know it was a rushed deal but surely Hughes should have said NO)
