Don't worry lads, no injuries to report.
Richard Dunne has taken a position as an ambassador for the FAI, shows how strongly he feels about Irish football.

Richard Dunne is a far superior player to Lescott. That decision by Mark Hughes proves he's a poor manager. He'll be sacked within 6 months. Dunne is a legend.
Níl aon tinteán mar do thinteán féin.
You'd wonder where would City be in the table if they had not upgraded their goalkeeper.
i was under the impression that it wasn't a hughes decision but totally one made by the Arabs/board running the place.
do you remember that quote from some board member saying "names like Richard Dunne don't exactly trip off the tongue in Asia" or something like that.
Basically, they wanted to bring in as many "big names" as possible (Lescott would get recognition abroad, playing for England) and so that's why Dunne was ousted.
might be completely wrong, but i thought that was what it was about....
any fool with two eyes can see Dunne is way better than Lescott.
in big trouble. I don't care about City anyway but I did hear interesting theory about Dunnes relative drop in form last year. Only when playing for City mind you. He's always been Irelands most commited. When he plays well he's playing flat out and leaves nothing on the pitch. If he takes his foot off the pedal slightly his performances dip disproportionately. Last year he sees inferior less commited players coming in getting paid multiples of what he's paid. Understandably his dedication goes to more normal levels and the performances become more ordinary.
Anyhow he's better off at Villa. He doesn't have to put up with Stephen Ireland and he continues to be an Irish legend.

You're probably right. Anyways it shows Hughes to be of weak character allowing a bunch of oil barons without Football knowledge to dictate team affairs. Therefor he's still a brutal manager. However, given that he's a yes man he might last longer than 6 months, maybe 9!

That quote about Richard Dunne rolling off the tongue was said by the previous owner or one of his staff (Shinawatra).
I honestly think that Hughes has full control, and that he simply made a very bad decision in this case.
Signing Given for example isn't going for a "big name" even though we all know he's one of the best in the world here.
That quote about Dunne came from the Chairman Gary Cook after Shinawatra took over last year. He was talking about sellin shirts in Asia
Its really not that complicated!!!
ya but where are the arabs from?! Asia, and id say they buy a lot mroe shirts there htan they do in poorer countries like thailand etc...
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
Even though the quote came out before the Arabs took over once that was said by the clubs chairman Dunne was always going to be under pressure when Man City became a world wide commercial product. Cook is a clown, as he proved with the Kaka affair, but his opinion would have been taken by the Arabs when it came time to talk about how they were going to make money
Its really not that complicated!!!
Yeah but we can't blame the Arabs for a comment made by Gary Cook, can we?
I honestly think Hughes has full control and just made a balls of it in regards to Dunne.
And although Dunne has been very good for us, and was good for City in the first couple of matches, I think that Dunne had one of his worst seasons in recent memory last term, and this is the reason why City wanted a replacement.
I also think that new managers generally like to install their own captain unless they're absolutely world class, so that they can stamp their own image on the team.
Not the way I would have done it, but I think Dunne was sold for footballing reasons, not commercial ones. I don't think Toure or Lescott are ridiculously marketable in reality...
Very clear today for any doubters, how much Citybank miss Dunner. Absolutely pathtetic at the back with no leader.
Having said that it also showed the risk in playing a full attacking midfiels no matter how low you rate the opposition i.e. he played the wretch Stephen Ireland instead of DeJonge.
Come next May, Hughes job may be history based on the Dunne decision because that's where the real failure is.
ps. The Muppet Pat Dolan was on Setanta blaming Shay Given for not organising the defence!!
How that man gets a job talking about football is beyond me. He was ranting in the Star yesterday that because Pat Fenlon is a manger in the league of Ireland he will never get a chance to become the national team manager... he has a very short memory, Brian Kerr and Eoin Hand both League of Ireland managers. The man is a complete joker
Its really not that complicated!!!
Delighted they only got a draw simply for the fact that Ireland was playing and that they brought in someone who is no where near the footballer Dunne is.
I feel sorry for Shay though because every club he has played with, the back four do him no favours whatsoever.

I remember Dolan criticizing Given for a long run of games where Newcastle didn't get a clean sheet last season as if it was his fault.
Haven't paid attention to him since. Literally change the channel when I see his face on Setanta.
