According to City Fans Dunnie was either
    (a) Useless Donkey who won POY awards cos everyone else was worse
    or
    (b) A Club legend who was never good enough for a top team and now needs to be moved on and thanked

No place for sentiment at Citeh!!

He is every bit as good a Martin Laursen was
Generally when I watched Man City Dunne used get lots of praise from the commentators but would never be mentioned when they were discussing the best in the country. I do remember a thing on Sky Sports though when they predicted what the City team would be like in a years time (this was when they uncovered their billions) and Dunne was the only player who remained there and there was even a (c) after his name. Robinho was just after being signed actually so he was there too but all the rest were like Kaka, Messi, Fabregas, etc.

Aston Villa insist Richard Dunne can still complete a move from Manchester City even though the entire deal appears not to have been finalised by the transfer dead-line.

Villa can continue to try to sign Dunne providing they started formal proceedings to tie up the deal by the 5pm cut-off point.

Dunne could have a testimonial next summer according to Soccernet as a player who was with a club 10 years.
Two thoughts on this: 1.He will be busy next summer and 2. A Richard Dunne Testimonial? Meh. I like him but I dont know. Hey what are you doing this saturday? What you kidding? Richard Dunne testimonial! Who?

Could happen. Wouldnt put it past the minds up there.
But its just funny, while RD was playing well for city the then chairman said his name doesnt exactly role of the tongue.

What are you on about? Celtic must play in a testimonial or 2 every single year. They happen all the time.

You're eligible for a testimonial after 10 years of service with a club. I don't know how it started but that's been the way for years. That's not to say Dunne was going to have one. It's his choice.

Crosby you tend to exaggerate a lot with ignorance.

I think it stems from when there was a cap in salaries so the players were no were near as well off as they are now when they retired. So they got the gate from their testemonial to set them up.. Simpler times.

Isn't it normal for a player who does not ask for a transfer, and who has a sizeable chunk of time left on his contract, be compensated in the event of his original club selling him. What they were were arguing on was how much severence money City should pay Dunne.
