Donít think itís fair to judge his character over something that happened years ago when he was a player, heís done great work in the community and brought a good feeling back to the club, that been said im sure heís aware as anyone that all the good football and popularity with fans in the world wonít be enough to save him if we have a disappointing season next year, hel be judged on results like everyone else.

Thereís a long way to go in the off season. If the squad is looking poor by February then start to worry. None of our theoretical rivals aside from Shels have done much either.

Just hoping there might be a few surprises in store Saturday night. As you said Shels have stole a march but they have the cash to do so. Harps proved last season the importance of finishing 2nd that has to be our aim

Do people think clubs have stores of cash they're just choosing not to spend depending who the manager is
    ?

If only our clubs had that sort of forward planning to have cash reserves built up!

Generally the money spent is the money available.

Blues linked with Julian Guevara - Colombian midfielder, plays in Finland. Should see Connor, Feely, Browne, Barnett, Hutchinson, O'Halloran, Martin, Walsh re-signing soon.

Decent making of a squad. Must be having a fair go at keeping in the top 4. Hopefully the league is competitive next year.

Rumours of Keegan and Corbett signing for us.

Yeah it seems Keegan will sign for ye. I think we offered him player-coach but he wants to go back home - young family and nearing retirement. He'll be the perfect influence on all your young players. The ultimate pro.

Yeah I really rated him last time he was with us. Hopefully he has a similar role here because I think he has the right temperament and personality to carve a career in coaching. Possibly still has a year or two left at LOI level too. You can understand his move. Lunney is a good player going the other way too. He has great flair. Lots of tricks and skill moves and nutmegs etc. He really grew as the season progressed. That's the type of player we should be aiming to keep. going forward.

Indications from Vinny Perth last night from a book launch event, that up to 3 new signings expected next week at Dundalk.

A goalkeeper should be one as Sava has already left.

McCarey I assume, considering he'll be finishing up at Warrenpoint around then.

That list is pretty out-dated at this stage. Quite a lot of the players on the list have been signed up already by clubs.

I'd suspect even a few that are out training with the PFAI and looking to play their pre-season tour games have already agreed deals with teams.

Do they still go to the FIFPRO tournament?

Soz,didn't realise the list was out of date.

As for the FIFPRO tounament - they(PFAI) don't seem to be pushing out as much promotion for it this year as they have previously so maybe they've used their turns?

Gary Boylan rumoured to be joining Cork City

He ticks a lot of boxes - he last played for Sligo and he can play right back

He is has also given some signs that he is a decent player

That's the only box that needs ticking for John Caulfield

If I had to describe Boylan in one word, it would be 'frustrating'.

Make no mistake he is talented. He has two very good feet although he is average in the air. When he came on the scene in the Showgrounds I really thought we had a young John O'Shea on our hands. He could play in a number of positions and slotted in with ease. He has had some decent performances and when's he is playing well he will stand out. He has been given plenty of opportunities by a number of Rovers managers and some trials over the water too, but unfortunately he just never kicked on or been consistent enough for what ever reason. Being torn between LOI and the gah hasn't helped either. Good luck to him, be interesting to see how he does with Cork, especially after a bad injury last season too.

Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!
