Loans have to be a minimum of one transfer window afaik.
Kenny Shiels thinking big or an attempt to divert attention from a poor run of form and disastrous recruitment over the winter?

Duffy would want his head tested, unless he wants the move personally its surely pie in the sky stuff.
Clubs and managers throw out these wild transfer claims often as a smokescreen for actual targets. Expect the unexpected signing of Cristiano Ronaldo hence!! Dundalk isnt so far from Derry that Duffy would absolutely have to move for personal reasons. He is playing well in a team challenging for the league and with European football, the club is seriously trying to address the 'free' player drain so contracts offered have to be decent, hopefully CL football next season too. These wont ward off the lure of the money available in the English Championship but it should other League of Ireland teams.
If Derry throw in a good offer for Duffy Dundalk may be forced to raise their own. Which could in turn help Derry secure another target they may be competing with Dundalk for.
Or it could be just signalling ambition to their support. Or maybe that mal's a mentaller.

Waterford supposed to be taking another Swindon player on loan til the end of the season. A couple of new players training with the squad. I think they're still trying to work out a new deal with Oldham to keep Duffus for the rest of the year. An English defender who trained with us a couple of months ago is expected to join too.
LMFM are reporting that Patrick McEleney has re-signed for Dundalk on a two year deal.
great signing ...the strength of your squad is getting scary
Conor Clifford supposed to have left Limerick, only 80 days after signing.

Michael Duffy’s agent looks to be flat out. Couldn’t see this happening, if he’s not at Dundalk next year then I’d say he’ll be in England.
They'll need to be offering him more than the 2k per week McEleneys about to get along with his 20k signing on fee to make him the highest paid player.
Duffy will be staying with Dundalk, he's now cold on England and his agent will be going back to Dundalk to match Fats' wage.
As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls
If Dundalk are paying McEleney 2k per week a signing on fee of 20k and a £50 transfer fee to Oldham for a guy who left for free in January the world has officially gone mad.
The same fee amount for Duffy would mean these two players over the next year would cost Dundalk around 300k , that's a lot of a Europe run money gone unless it involves group stages.
I find it hard to believe but it is the mirror I suppose
