Sadlier a one trick pony??! Not in the slightest. Can't wait to see him next season after a proper off season of strength and conditioning behind him. He is quality.

Agreed. Has some similar traits to Connolly as far as wing players go but he has exponentially better decision making and subtlety in play.

Connolly isn't even a one trick pony 😁
There's a lot more to come from Sadlier.

Give it up Nigel. Now that McCourt's legendary defensive skills have deserted him and he's getting nutmegged by 19 year olds, he's finished.

I haven't seen enough of Connolly to really judge, but in what I have seen he's lacking in the footballing intelligence side of things. I genuinely think Sadlier will be the best 'flair' player in the league next year. He just needs to toughen up a bit first.

Derry news reporting that Derry have offered McEleney a 4 year contract! Can’t wait to see people arriving to Games in limos and choppers next season while drinking Preseco and smoking cigars that they light with 20 Euro notes, the boom is back baby!

As long as they're offering sensible money and not mental wages i don't see anything wrong with clubs here offering longer contracts. Derry have been getting european money for a couple of years now so they should be able to afford a few multi-year contracts as long as the wages are not outrageous.

Maybe this is a sign that our league (or the top teams at least) are finally stabilizing financially. Dundalk have given Gannon a 3 year contract too

Clubs in the north have been offering three and four year deals for ages on lower money than is offered here. It generally seems to suit players and clubs here not to have long contracts.

If I'm taking a guess Drogheda finalising their 2018 budget may be it. Mahon won't work without a budget and some Drogheda players winding up at First Division competitors like Longford would suggest this to be the reason
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians

Any Derry opinions on Dean Jarvis? Rumour here that he is close to signing for Dundalk. Ronan Murray supposed to be more or less signed also.

They'll probably end up at Cork.

He's good if he has other good ones around him. Sometimes prone to the odd mistake. Likes to get forward a lot too.
I wouldn't have him ahead of Massey now though.

Bunch of transfer talk in the Irish sun today, mainly involving Shamrock Rovers...

Rovers chasing Aston Villa defender Kevin Toner.

Rovers have already landed keeper Cian Clarke from Bohs. (He's only 16 so i'm sure he'll just be with the underage sides for now at least.)

Rovers also apparently competing with St Johnstone for David McMillan.

Bradley also after Jordi Balk, who's being courted by Waterford and Cork too.

if true, its very odd these clubs chasing Balk. As a defender he is bang average. He cashed in on the fact that the midfield in front of him steadied when Brennan came in.
He can occasionally....occasionally...give you a long diagonal ball which looks great when it comes off, and he badge kisses with the best of them, but in terms of defending, he is fairly meh.

Other Saints I was talking to were raving about him.....oh right I see what you`re doing there.

Waterford being linked with everyone available, are they the new Limerick, Bray or Fingal?
