Ethan Boyle will prove a good signing for Rovers. I’m sorry to see him go.
Boyle was on trial with Shamrock Rovers before the 2016 season bit wasn't signed then. With his age profile and two seasons of regular premier division starts under his belt the 8k fee is small enough investment for a potential long-term right-back
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians
Harps fans have described him as "raw", " positionally suspect" and "not the most gifted technically". That's generous based on the 3 times I have seen him live this season
Like most 21 year olds he has the potential to improve, but he has a long distance to go. If Bradser intends for him to be an immediate direct replacement for Simon Madden, Rovers fans have plenty of reasons to be nervous.
I wish Ethan Boyle well and accept that €8,000 is not an enormous investment, but the decision to "release" Madden remains bizarre on the basis of this signing.
Like I said what would Nigel or Mr A know let alone the under 21 Ireland manager. Any chance of an odd post on dundalk .lol
With respect, Harps tactics in any game against Dundalk wouldn't have really shown any of our players in a decent light.

Don't be starting some weird obsession now......
Here you go, though, with the latest (well from this morning) on Dundalk re-signings and transfer targets

Here's another for the craic
Happy with the Murray signing, doubt McMillan will be back now unfortunately. As for the Boyle signing, never stood out when I saw him which wasn't much to be fair. Would be happy if he was signed as a backup but not as a starter. Who knows how he'll progress though, I'm sure under Bradley's tutelage he'll be getting sent off in no time...
It appears dundalk are going all out to win the league next year.
3 years contracts and outspending Cork, Rovers & Derry for players --Will there be any money left to do up that dump of a ground you inhabit?
Shamrock Rovers- Where trophies are won and envy is scarce
In an article mainly about the breakdown in relations between the FAI and the PFAI Stephen McGuinness is quoted as saying that it looks like Galway are staying full time. It seems a rather unnecessary expense. He also reckons “clubs like Longford” are offering two year deals to players.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
I would be shocked if that were true. Apparently there is a good chance we will be changing to evening training sessions to accommodate players working.
Even taking into account being full time last season, we probably only had a bigger budget than Drogheda United, Finn Harps and Bohemians. The variance between us and Bohemians wouldn't have been that big either I think so it's relative. I'd say our wage budget will be nearly halved for next year, or not far off the mark. It wouldn't be the first time McGuinness has spouted nonsense.

roddy collins you're a flanker you're a flanker!
More money?? Title contenders or not you are deluded Yossarian! Rovers have a strict wage structure after learning from past mismanagement and would never accumulate debts year on year like the early to mid 2000's; That could might risk the club having to seek a loan for part ownership and weaken the 400 club model, it would never happen. Player's regularly reject more money from other clubs just to have Shamrock Rovers on their CV, huge savings there!! Their wage bill is no more than 4th highest in the league with 2 or 3 other clubs.
Everytime I get into a debate with EZ and his camp followers I ask myself why....its like trying to have a debate with Trump about Obama care....no change of mind or opinions possible.
Why don't we have an agreement with the mods that the next time EZ or I make a negative comment about Dundalk or Shamrock Rovers we get banned for a month. Will be easy for me to stick to but can EZ live life without his regular fix ??
You never know EZ if you can't make negative comments about every mention of Shamrock Rovers you might even start to have a new positive attitude to life in general....
I'm up for it if you are ...the mods can be the referee as to what constitutes banter/opinion rather than blind negativity
