Disappointing but not surprising if those are true.
Zayed posted on twitter that we are signing a centre half, Colin Falvey from his team in the US. From Cork, 32 years old, looks interesting from the highlights on youtube but those can be misleading. Definitely need more options there with Dunleavy out for the year and Alan Bennett being held together by chewing gum, toilet paper and sheer determination. Plus the yoga.

Clifford rumoured to be leaving us with Bray interested, be ideal for Pats
Nope. Short back and sides.
http://readsouthampton.com/2017/06/2...trevor-clarke/Southampton Football Club have made a bid in the region of £1 million to sign Shamrock Rovers youngster Trevor Clarke, we understand.
Sounds to good to be true. Unusual for a loi club to get anything approaching what a player is worth. Having said that if clarke gets some game time in the UK he will be on the plane to Russia next summer.
Find it hard to believe myself. English clubs know they don't have to spend anything near that amount of money here. Only way I could see it happening is if a real bidding war developed between two clubs. I think English clubs view signings from the league here as bargain basement stuff that they can afford to take a risk on, knowing that it doesn't cost much. They also know most clubs here are not in a position to turn down say 1-2 hundred grand.

Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
By all accounts he's on a one-year deal. He's been here for two years, so if he leaves in the winter it's €120-150k. It's not really worth Rovers' while selling him four months early for that kind of money, but I imagine if they doubled it it'd be tempting. I'd love for us just to keep him as our on-field performance is worth the difference in cash, especially if he was the difference between winning a game in Europe or finishing in the top three.
