Missing McEleney big-time.
Not too much changed by that, except no chance of penos now. One goal will still do it.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
What a chance....
Aw, what a miss. Can't believe it.
Had them by the short and curleys twice and failed to capitalise - an opportunity missed.
Good Jesus I'm glad that's over and i don't have to hear Rosen-BERG anymore.
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Ah, so disappointing. So close. Great effort though.
Soapbox stuff on rte again.
So close. Kilduff should have scored . Tough loss
Over two legs its probably fair the difference being that rosenborg took their chances. You cant help but feel the tie should have been over with either 2nd chance in either leg. Still thats probably the difference between both teams. The other regret is all of rosenborgs goals could have been avoided. Vemeullen is a class above, i hope Dundalk can hold onto him.
Dundalk had 2 great 20 mins starts in both legs but couldn't sustain the level. Perhaps an away leg first might have made the difference
Great performance over all. Kenny doing great again. Coek better do the same in CL qualifying next year.

Unlucky from Dundalk. Rosenborg just squeeze through. But they could have played better. Dundalk played at their limit, and it just wasn't enough. We're still 4-5 years away from being Europa League regulars, let alone Champions League. By and large the horror days of Pats-Zimbru 1999 are long gone but now we're at a stage where narrow defeats seem to be the new normal. It must be gutting for Dundalk to be out of Europe at the first go. No financial boost this autumn for them now either. Don't see Cork doing anything tomorrow in 30 degree heat tomorrow night, likewise Rovers, in that they probably won't qualify due to a narrow loss. We're being edged out of Europe by the odd goal here and there on aggregate and there's a sense of almost there but not quite when it comes to Europe. Obviously last season was the best ever, but time will tell whether that was a once in 5 year phenomenon or something more regular. Maybe it's better not to have faced Celtic, perhaps facing a scenario where they're 1-0 down, under the kosh, and all the Irish people start singing the Fields of Athenry.
Had Rosenborg @ 2-1 but over 90 minutes. They had their chances but over the 2 legs Rosenborg the better side as you would expect, given their resources & Dundalk not as good as last year.
Back to the drawing board now for Dundalk. Rosenborg know they could have lost and almost did. Bitterly disappointing. Gutted for Kenny. Vemmelund really is a superb defender.
Smoked 20 fags during that!!
I'll sleep tomorrow maybe.... if my heart dosn't give out by then.
Did we get any coefficient points for the league tonight?
Cheers
I'm probably the only one around here that dosn't properly understand the coefficient thingy majig
Good luck to both Cork and Shams in the EL tomorrow.Fancy Cork to a win and go through.
Early goal from Shams could rock the Czechs and then game on.All to play for.
ádh mór
It takes an Icelander to close the tie
Overall, a tremendous performance and effort from Dundalk, unfortunately no EL to fall back on, it would have been ideal seeing as there's no league title race.
Hard luck Dundalk, great effort.
