    NOT HAPPENING....

    http://breaking.tcm.ie/story.asp?j=1...n=110849889&x=

Former Derry City and Finn Harps manager Gavin Dykes has denied rumours he is set to become the new assistant manager at Cork City.

Rumours spread on Thursday and Friday that Dykes was to be named as replacement for Noel O’Connor - who has joined Limerick - after he was seen meeting Cork boss Pat Dolan on Thursday.

The rumours even spread to the Cork City message board on the club’s official website.

But Dykes, a FÁS coordinator in Sligo, insists the rumour is untrue, insisting the pair met purely to discuss business.

He said: “I did meet Mr Dolan and we discussed business. I know he is looking for an assistant but it’s not something I’m interested in. I’m based in Sligo and Cork is simply too far away.

“I’m not looking to get back into football at the moment but if something comes up that interests me, I might throw my hat in once again.”
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

And people were saying that journalists couldn't have picked up on any of the bullsh!t rumours by looking at the forum!

Should put things in perspective a bit. Not that any of the rumour merchants will take notice I suspect!

Should start a new rumour here without any basis & see how long it takes the Echo & other media to repeat it...

I must congratulate the players, officials and supporters of Cork City on gaining the title of the club generating the most rumours in the Eircom League in 2005. You have taken over the mantle from Shamrock Rumours who held the title for the previous 86 seasons
