Into the second half, currently leading 4-0

Greece beat Kazakhstan 1-0 earlier. If things stay as they are, a win against Kazakhstan on Monday will be enough to qualify for the elite stages.

Excellent Start. Macauley scored 2 for Liverpool 18 s today http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/acad...n-at-west-brom . He was named in original 17 s squad seems strange he wood not b required for the qualifiers . He was in the original squad http://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/obrie...efa-qualifiers but caffrey from Celtic seems to have replaced him and was on bench today.

yeah, a win against Greece on thursday will top the group, no matter what.

Missed the first goal, second goal was a header from a corner, third was a late penalty. Kazakhstan finished with nine men, both two yellow cards. Second one was for protesting the penalty.

Both teams have hit the post in the past 5 mins, Ireland first, then Greece. Nearly an hour gone.

Good win. Could even afford to miss a penalty in injury time.

From what I can tell, the top 7 ranked group winners (out of 13) will be top seeded in the elite stage. We are ahead of Russia and Turkey, but there are still 6 groups left to play, and a few of them look like they'll be tight. Winning the group means at worst being a second seed. Great chance of a decent draw now.

McCauley scored again for pool today 8 for season http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/acad...h-win-in-a-row . Definitely best scoring run by Irish underage striker at big club since stokes at arsenal til bendner showed up and stole the glory!

Didn't Sam Byrne have a run like that at United? Still injured after breaking his leg earlier this year

had a look at his wiki looks like 4 in first season at 18s , 7 in second season then went on loan in second half of last season before been released. Hopefully comes good at Everton where obviously himself and duffuse will b fighting for a role. We really have been so impoverished with strikers at youth level

Had a quick look there and I think we'll be in the top 8 pot of seeds for the elite round.
