there is a section on the site that lets you view or amend your bank or credit cad details.... its down at the moment because the draw is in progress but you can email them to update or amend payment details.... as far as i remember monies will be debited in may.

You will have ticked 'Bank Transfer' as your method of payment.

If you are sucessful they will give you details of how and where to transfer the money.

Nothing farcial about it, I think it was pretty easy to apply and please god I'll be successful!!

If you've applied by Mastercard then check your card. An English friend has had his card charged for tickets.

    Mine has not been charged.

    No e-mails yet.

Are you sure he's not ****ting you??? Unlikely thatpayment would be taken before even notifying you and in any event payments weren't plan till May.

    No debit on my mastercard

No word back from UEFA on tickets yet, dont know whether thats good or bad or indifferent after reading this on fifaworldcup.com

"...the fans still need to show a little patience as the lucky winners will be notified on 22 April. Those who placed their orders by internet and weren't drawn will be informed by e-mail. "

He is definitely telling the truth and it is unliekly albeit possible he is mistaken. He was charged for 2 tickets having applied for 8 (2 tickets for 4 different games).

The odds on getting tickets are not good anyway particularly on Irish TSTs which is what I and presumably most on here will want.

It is still possible that we may get tickets and not all cards are charged at the same time

    Ticket Latest

This Friday, exactly one week after the ballot for the first contingent of 2006 FIFA World Cup™ match tickets, applicants who ordered through the internet will receive an e-mail from the Organising Committee congratulating the lucky winners and commiserating with those who missed out. A total of 652,521 individual tickets as well as team specific series tickets and wheelchair users' places were allocated in the ballot.
The eagerly-awaited ballot took place at FIFA World Cup Ticketing Center headquarters on 15 April 2005, some 420 days before the Opening Match in 2006. The huge volume of data to be processed called for some 1,000 individual draw procedures, but the task was still completed within ten hours. 208,455 of around 900,000 applicants were allocated tickets, equivalent to a 1 in 4.3 chance of success in the first sales phase. The internet accounted for 95% of the applications received.
A clear majority of the applicants hailed from Germany, but thirteen team specific quotas available in the first phase were taken up in their entirety, namely Argentina, Brazil, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, USA, and the host nation.
Ranked by number of applications, Germany headed the list followed by Great Britain, USA, Japan and Switzerland. Some 6.25 million (72 percent) of the 8.7 million valid applications originated in Germany.
All the tickets made available in the first sales phase for all 64 matches have been allocated, with "highlight" matches such as fixtures involving Germany, the semi-finals and the Final as much as 39 times overbooked.
Applicants who missed out in the first phase should try again when the second phase opens on 2 May 2005, offering exclusively team specific tickets through official website www.FIFAworldcup.com. In a significant departure from the first phase, the point at which applications are received assumes critical importance as 'first come, first served' applies from 2 May.

We've done ourselves proud yet again as an island of 4.5M heads, takin' our full TST allocation along with the likes of Argentina, Brazil and Italy etc. Hope my Inbox will be kind on Friday !!

Just out of curiosity does every country get allocated the same amount of TST tickets or do they take into account the population of each country? I suppose that would hardly make sense as just because you are a well populated country that does not mean that a lot of people from your country will necessarily travel.

thats what i reckon, i mean its just too much hassle getting bank details waiting for payment etc, and when they can pick from that many entries they will pick the entries that cause less hassle to complete...

I disagree here and there have been attempts to make the draw fair. With the internet this is too much of a risk and leaves Mastercard and the organisers open to bad press.

The same number of TST tickets is available for each nation.

If you just want to go to the world cup then I'd advise logging on early on May 2nd and booking a TST for a country you believe will qualify that hasn't sold out. I need to study the groups but Iran and Ivory Coast look good. There is a very good chance you'll get a big gun too.

Good point re the Iranian support they will have big support in Germany. however according to www.fifaworldcup.com 13 TSTs have sold out namely
Argentina, Brazil, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, USA, and the host nation. So anyone that applied for an Iranian TST (and ticked the box to accept other categories) will get them.

The Africans will be easier but Iran games will be great and I'm tempted myself to book them.

    No luck here either

"Due to the high demand for tickets for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany (TM), the ticket applications correctly processed and accepted had to be entered into a draw. Unfortunately, you have not been allocated any tickets for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany (TM)."
