    Checkatrade trophy update:
    - Harry Charsley scored for Everton U-23s as they lost on penalties to Blackpool
    - Connor Ronan scored Wolves' third from the spot against Accrington Stanley - Anthony Breslin came on as a second-half sub, Conor Levingston was an unused sub
    - Ryan Sweeney an unused sub for Stoke U-23s
    - Young up-and-comer Anthony Stokes scored for Blackburn U-23s and scored his penalty as they lost a shoot-out to Oldham
    - Dylan Watts an unused sub in Leicester's defeat to Walsall - Kevin Toner and Liam Kinsella both played the full 90 for Walsall
    - Tom Holland a late sub for Swansea
    - Declan Rice played the full game for West Ham, sixteen-year-old Conor Coventry was on the bench
    - As mentioned in his own thread, Richie Towell got the winner for Brighton U-23s. Dessie Hutchinson played the full game and Jayson Molumby came on as a second-half sub
    - Robert McCourt, Shaun Donnellan and Zachary Elbouzedi all turned out for West Brom U-23s against a Gillingham team that included Mark Byrne, Emmanuel Osadebe and Bradley Garmston in his first appearance since April

    That is all

Paul Tisdale contradicts reports in The Irish Sun; signing Ryan Swan for Exeter was never an option.

Would make sense alright. Few kites being flown in the Sun lately with Swan and Lopes going to English teams but pretty obvious neither was ever going to happen. Hopefully Ryan follows in his da's footsteps and deserts the gypos for Dublin's big club

    ...and then there was one.
    - Last man standing in the EFL Trophy of the Irish Academy players is Tom Holland, whose Swansea City U23s were the only academy side to progress to the quarter-finals, beating a Wolves' U-23 side that had Anthony Breslin and Conor Levingston as starters, with Levingston replaced by Daniel McKenna on 77 mins.
    - Elsewhere Josh Barrett scored an injury-time penalty for Reading's U-23s but it was only a consolation as they were beaten 4-2 by Yeovil. Shane Griffin came on as a second-half sub
    - Dessie Hutchinson and Jayson Molumby started for Brighton U-23s as they lost 3-0 to Coventry. Daniel Mandroiu came off the bench while Dylan Barnett was an unused sub

Ronan Hale scored Birmingham's third in their U-23 game against QPR (I think that may be his first since stepping up from the U-18s). Corey O'Keeffe, Dan Cleary and Noe Baba all played for Birmingham
