5 irish in Blackburn's squad today with Hoban, Stokes, Byrne, Williams and Lenihan with all but Byrne getting their game at some point. Unfortunately they lost :P
Some of their fan's comments:
Subs didn't change anything, although I thought Lenihan was good when he came on.
Stokes was better than Gally had been.
Coyle seems to like getting irish players so hopefully he avoids the sack!
Jack Byrne and Anthony Stokes left out of the squad today.
Stokes only started training this week after straining his ligaments so he probably just wasn't considered fit enough. I haven't seen Byrne though so maybe he just wasn't considered. Wes Brown went straight into the squad so that might have pushed him out.
Hoban and Williams played last night against Wednesday and Lenihan came of as a sub for the last 25 minutes. No Stokes or Byrne. Shame to see so many Irish at a club which has been in serious decline since they were taken over by Venky's. Will do very well to avoid relegation this season.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
No Byrne or Stokes again today.
Lenihan returns to the starting lineup though.
No sign of Byrne today, Stokes was an unused sub, but on the upside, Darragh Lenihan played the second half while Tommy Hoban and Derrick Williams both played the full game and kept Ipswich scoreless, Blackburn's first clean sheet of the season, albeit against a really goal-shy team. I think the management team should really think about blooding these two lads in as they are both experienced Championship players who are still quite young (Hoban-22, Williams-23)
You'd hope Man City will take Byrne back in January and try to find him a new club.
It is great for the 2 lads. Problem is all our centre halves r championship players and these 2 haven't done anything to justify jumping past the likes of mcshane or Pearce or keogh. Lads like Cunningham and Doherty are solid performers at that level as well. We need one or two to step up to premier league
Blackburn climbed out of the relegation zone tonight with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest - Hoban, Williams and Lenihan all played the full 90, with Stokes an unused sub again
Hoban out for 3 months; Williams out for 6 weeks.

At least it's only his shoulder crazy to b operating on it for a first time one rehab him back in 6 weeks try and keep Blackburn up
Lots Irish involved v Brentford. Lenihan and Williams start stokes and Byrne subs . Egan plays for Brentford field and bonhom on bench
Stokes and Byrne unused subs again; Blackburn lose again.
Blackburn heading for League 1 as things stand despite leading 2-0 at Brentford. Nottingham Forest are ahead of them on goals scored (same GD) after getting a penalty on the stroke of half time, having been comprehensively outplayed by Mick's Ipswich at the City Ground.
Williams and Lenihan started for Blackburn with Hoban on the bench, Field started for Brentford with Egan on the bench.
Birmingham (the only other club in danger) lead 1-0 at Bristol City. Gleeson and O'Dowda both start on the bench.
At the other end Newcastle have leapfrogged Brighton for now, leading 1-0 at home to Barnsley. Elliot starts, Murphy on the bench, Clark, maybe worryingly, not in the squad.
Brighton are scoreless at Villa Park, Hourihane started for Villa. Scott Hogan went off injured on the stroke of half time.
Blackburn concede and Forest go 2-0 up in the space of a minute. Blackburn now look reliant on Bristol City doing them a favour against Birmingham.
Blackburn gone despite winning 3-1.
Birmingham held on to their 1-0 lead at Ashton Gate. O'Dowda and Gleeson both used from the bench in the final 10-15 minutes.
Forest totally dominated against Ipswich in the second half and won 3-0.
Brighton received a sucker punch against ten man Villa to draw 1-1 and lose out on the Championship title, Grealish with the goal.
Congratulations to Derrick Williams and Darragh Lenihan, who have officially been promoted back to The Championship with Blackburn at the first attempt. Both played the full 90 in a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/43792160
