    help

i hope to be heading to the world cup in '06, however, i have no idea the process in buying tix. how does one buy tix, legal, over the internet. i think they go on sale this tues, but i need direction on how to get my hands on a couple tix. not to make matters worse, i live in Canada, which will have no team in the world cup. from what i heard fifa sells only so many tix to people who's nation is not in the world cup. any help would be great. thx

They'll be going on sale from this site:
    http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/index.html

There'll be way more demand then supply which means most people won't be getting a ticket. It doesn't matter if you put your name down tomorrow or March, its not first come first served, the names are drawn. The only credit cards excepted are Mastercard but you can use bank transfer too.

    3. What is a TST series?

TST stands for team specific ticket. TSTs are sold as so-called series, i.e. these tickets entitle you to attend a series of matches of your favorite team. You do not have to be a citizen of the country of your favorite team. A TST series will let you go along with your desired team to at least all preliminary round matches, and to the final round matches up to a stage of the tournament selected by you according to the type of TST.

If you just want to see a few games and don't mind who but want to be virtually guaranteed tickets then apply for a TST3 or TST4 ticket for a team likely to make the finals that has poor travelling support.

I reckon study the African groups and pcik one of them (not south Africa btw). If you get them you will have to wait until the draw to see where your game swill be on and who Cameroon eg will be playing.

Otherwise pick 7 games at random and apply for all 7 and you'll probably get 1 or 2 of those now so you'll know your venue and date and will be guaranteed tickets but will have to wait until the draw to see who you will see.

If you wan tto see a major footballing power then I reckon Argentina, spain, Portugal and Italy are worth a shout and may not be oversubscribed in round 1. Not as easy as the African's but still a pretty good shout here. forget the northern european teams as these will be way oversusbscribed and you'll be in a lottery.

So this TST thing means irish people who may not travel if own country don't qualify can just apply on spec in hope they qualify. If Ireland don't qualify won't get tickets so not stuck with huge bunch...?

Germans are noted for thier efficiency but IMO its a trait been over-rated.

I did hear before (previous job) that they testing a radio based "all-in-one" pass for WC 2006 - stadium ticket, train ticket etc.. all integrated.
