€135k to top clubs €115k medium clubs, €16k to the tiniest clubs.
Mandated is that it's for football related projects not for playing personel.
There's an extra grant of €7,500 made available for each top 24 clubs to send their youth coaches to a uefa elite youth coaching course organised by KSI

Annual accounts report is made public.
Perusing the addenda, I see they give an annual grant of €7,000 to each club in top 2 divisons
to complete their annual accounts and licence application.
Also accounted for is all finance received from Fifa/Uefa and where and what it goes for.
ah that's all very well, but do they get the drinks in for the fans ?

With the price of drink in Reykjavik, even JD's yearly wedge wouldn't go far.

But he has at least two salarys. OCI and FAI. I'm sure he could afford a few drinks.

Not saying I agree with it but justification will be football is an Olympic sport

That we have never qualified for, that I'm aware of. UEFA U21 semis/finalists get places I think.

Don't know what the process is currently, but Ireland played in the 1924 and 1948 Olympics.

Do we not enter due to awkwardness re jurisdiction playing apart. Soccer in the Olympics would be all-Ireland potentially. Most likely not worth the trouble. Then again, the real; issue is because the FAI couldn't be fooked.

No, it's the same as any other Olympic sport, jurisdictional issues all resolved now - since about 1924, in fact. Rugby, on the other hand, might pose a problem.

Thought we tried to qualify for the 88 or 92 olympics? As in there was a tournament. Did I dream that?

It does ring a bell. A League of Ireland team I think?

Edit - here's the 1992 qualification - just the 1992 European U-21 qualification doubling up as Olympic qualification. The 1988 article has no indication on how qualification was decided.

Also, here's the squads for the 1992 competition out of interest. All under 23, but some serious names in there. Guardiola, Brolin, Friedel, Andersson, Dino Baggio, Helveg, Bosnich and loads others.

Yeah it was an all LOI team. Think there were 8 from Rovers. Seem to remember either a hoops scene or a programme from one of the qualifiers featuring Mick Byrne on the front in an IReland kit. It didnt have the FAI badge though just a shamrock.

Ulster rugby players could have opted to play for the GB rugby sevens team. IRFU decreed they should not because they run on All-Ireland basis. A court wouldn't stop Ulster players. It's unlikely any would rock the boat there.

Did any N. Ireland players feature for GB 4 years ago? N. Irish athletes have a choice between Ireland or GB.

The Good Friday agreement has the RoI as a 32 county team. Gibson and McClean making my point for me.

If our U21s finish in the top 3 of their euros we'll be in the Olympics. Olympic qualification is difficult. Not many places available for the global game.

On FAI funding and the €5000 offered to clubs, the FAI keep media talking about being debt free by 2020.There surely has to be more funds available after that.

Sad to think that its gone this way.
Badly handed by both parties I feel. SPA telling the FAI to F off instead of suggesting an alternative.
The FAI telling SPA to F off instead of working with them and of course offering pittance in the first place

    SSE Airtriciy League Nonsense Reporting
Check this out guys, on the SSE Airtrictiy website tonight with the First Division playoffs looming, they put Cobh's one nil win over UCD as edging the Cork men to within a point of UCD, says it all doesn't it! No you silly boys its to within three points, how do they just keep showing a complete lack of respect to the game, clubs, supporters and the country's domestic football. http://www.sseairtricityleague.ie/ne...ver-shelbourne (Accessed 16 Sept 2016).
