    Dolan to join Limerick.....!!?!

It must be a seriously dull week for the papers to be coming up with outrageously '2 + 2 = 27' long-shots like this :

Dolan linked with sensational Limerick move (from elevenaside.com)

    January 27, 2005

Cork City manager Pat Dolan could be set to jump ship and rejoin forces with former assistant Noel O’Connor in the new regime at Limerick FC, according to a Thursday morning newspaper report.

Former St Patrick’s Athletic boss Dolan has been in situ at Turners Cross for the past two years, guiding the Leesiders to third- and second-place finishes in the Premier Division.

During that time, assistant O’Connor – snapped up from Limerick shortly after Dolan’s arrival – was a key element in the management team, and Dolan has made no secret of his respect for his former number two since O’Connor left to take the reins under an ambitious new ownership consortium at First Division Limerick FC.

And, according to the Irish Sun on Thursday, there remains a possibility that Dolan could be set to make another stunning managerial move within the eircom League.

The driving force behind St Patrick’s Athletic for more than a decade, Dolan raised more than a few eyebrows when accepting the Cork post in February 2003.

Dolan signed a three-year contract at that time, and the Cork team have progressed markedly in his time on Leeside, with young players such as Liam Kearney and Kevin Doyle – who followed Dolan from St Pats – becoming key elements of the Irish under-21 squad over the past 18 months.

It remains a longshot that he will make his exit from Cork at this point, yet supporters of the Rebel Army will be anxiously awaiting any new announcements from the club until the speculation is denied in full.

Well it might go to make some people appreciate Dolan a bit more, people who are taking him for granted.

But yeah .... real slow news day when they are coming out with that.

Who wrote it and where was the source of the "scoop"
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
